"I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Its proximity to the train station was appealing to me, but I liked the location for many other reasons as well — close to shopping, restaurants and sights while still being quiet. The staff was excellent and the spa a wonderful indulgence. I was in a suite and loved the huge sofa to relax in!"

"Great location for concert at the castle. Really helpful staff. Hotel could do with some money spending on it as looks tired in many places. Room was basic. No air con but a fan provided. Breakfast was adequate."

"Nice hotel stayed here previously and it was great , so booked to return for a special occasion with friends, contacted the hotel prior to visit to ask fir rooms on the same floor preferably near to each as we were celebrating 2 special birthdays Unfortunately this was a complete waste of time as when we arrived we were one on the first floor and the other on 4 th So disappointed they supposedly upgraded us but to floors 3 and 4 still not together such a a disappointing experience "

"No Aircon con in room window would not open this his the worst hotel I have visited and advise people to avoid it's should be shut down, there were people in reception asking for there money back it's a utter shambles to have this place advertised and it's expensive.people be warned don't book this place at any cost,we where given two portable fans for room then given another two and these made no difference when it's 32 degrees outside . Please everyone avoid this hotel "

"The hotel itself is excellent - great location and architecture. The cool atmosphere and aircon were welcoming on the hottest June day ever recorded in Cardiff! The facilities were great - including bedroom, bar and pool / spa. A couple of disappointments though. Guaranteed check-in from 3p.m. We arrived at 2.15 so went to the bar to wait. By 3.30 still no room, so after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing they eventually found us an upgrade. The breakfast - distinctly average for the price and...

"Edward stood out as an exceptionally helpful member of staff. So informative, friendly and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. He went above and beyond and we were very grateful as it was our first visit to Cardiff. We had a deluxe room which was very comfortable, executive lounge was an added bonus. Breakfast was amazing, plenty of of choice."

"Due to the heatwave the rooms were boiling hot. Very difficult to sleep in even with a fan provided. The bathroom was very small"

"Room for 3 adults, but only 2 bath towels, and 2 cups to make coffee or tea. Requested some and was quickly sorted ."

"Don’t stay at this hotel June to September. It is not able to handle hot weather. Our room was like sauna. The WiFi was poor at best with no or poor internet connection many times. The hot water was only warm at best. The building was a land mark and very interesting. The room was very large with a 12 foot ceiling"

"Exceptional staff in the restaurant and room service very responsive and helpful. Room spacious 5 minutes away from the City Center walking for shopping and meals including grocery. Would stay again. Value for money. Nice area to just sit by the bar. Very comfortable. Didn’t use gym or spa but would have if time permitted."

"Beautiful surroundings with an outside terrace overlooking a small lake, quiet. Staff very courteous and helpful. Grounds could do with a bit of tidying, cigarette stubs everywhere. Sink in bathroom problematic for shorter people, needed to stretch over the counter to use it, tap also very stiff to use and leaking. Enjoyed our stay very much and would stay there again."
