"Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful, although restaurant seems to be understaffed. Rooms and hallways need to be updated and repaired. Carpet in hallways is worn and dirty. Beds very comfortable and room was quiet and well cleaned by housekeeping staff. My son and I had adjoining rooms with a balcony. Unfortunately, we shared the balcony with a third room whose occupant used it as a smoking area. So we never used it. I left my balcony door cracked the first night for fresh air and woke up to the smell of cigarette smoke. I assume e that since the rooms are non-smoking, the balconies are coveted by smokers. Would not request one again. Nice pool area. "

"This is my honest review: The exterior of the hotel and lobby are original, with beautiful architecture, and the location is very central. However, the rooms and hallways were outdated and felt unclean—there was black mould in the grout on the bathroom tiles, and the carpets clearly needed a professional cleaning. I understand this may be part of the hotel’s “aesthetic,” but I don’t think there’s any excuse for the room being dirty. Much of the furniture in the room also felt like it needed updating. The carousel bar was packed every time we went, so we eventually gave up trying to get in (which was one of the main reasons I chose the hotel). It’s also very close to Bourbon St, so walking back after dark didn’t feel like the safest experience. Overall, nothing about the hotel really stood out to us—it was simply a place to sleep."

"asked for adjoining room with reservation 3 months ago, received an email from asst mgr that I would be 'pleased', when we checked in they wanted to have our rooms on separate floors! In order to have adjoining room we had to agree to being in rooms not 'remodeled' yet, they were not but not too bad (but not worth >300/night, more like an old comfort inn for $100/night)), worse was drilling noise (but it did stop after Sat). Check in person very unconcerned. Breakfast was good but one of our party paid cash and took 20 minutes to get change (and again, unconcerned service). I know they were busy (aren't they always in New Orleans? Fests all the time) but only parking guys were courteous."

"Really loved our stay. Room is clean and super comfortable space. The bed was firm and all clean. Location is amazing, we were on Bourbon street so a bit louder but it’s a vibe!"

"After more than ten visits to the French quarter I think I've found the one. Very accommodating and extremely friendly. No issues when I needed to check in early and out late. Looking forward to seeing French market inn again, and what I will call my favorite place to lay my head in the city so far!"
