"The front desk staff were helpful. The best feature of the place was the pool. You can wait there while your room is getting ready. I wouldn't pay to get in early. Restaurant by the pool is great. The bar by the pool nice staff. You will need a card to use the elevator like most places. No phones in the room . You will need your phone if you want to communicate with front staff at the hotel with any of your concerns. It's a great location. If you can walk you can get to old town. Not far. Grocery store close. Breakfast good selection but food not hot ..ie pancakes. The staff are amazing!!! If you don't want any extras for a hotel this is for you. It takes a bit to first get use to this style of hotel."

"I booked this boutique hotel for my honeymoon, expecting a seamless and special experience. Instead, the day before our flight to Lisbon, we were targeted by a sophisticated phishing scam sent directly through this hotel’s official Expedia messaging portal. The hotel’s account was compromised, and because the message came from their official thread, I trusted it and my credit card details were stolen. As a direct result of the hotel's lack of security, I had to spend the entire day before my honeymoon flight on the phone with my bank canceling my primary credit card. Traveling to Europe for our honeymoon without my main financial lifeline has caused an immense amount of stress and disruption. When I reached out to the hotel to give them a chance to take accountability and make it right—whether through a room upgrade or a partial refund for the massive inconvenience—they offered absolutely nothing. Expedia acknowledged the breach on their end and provided a goodwill gesture, but the hotel itself showed zero accountability, zero customer service, and zero empathy for ruining the start of our honeymoon. Do not trust this hotel with your data or your special occasions. Their security is compromised, and their management simply does not care about the fallout their guests experience"

"I booked the Avenida Palace for my parents to celebrate my Dad's 80th Birthday. The hotel gave them a really lovely room and left little treats like natas. They told me the hotel was beautiful and that the breakfast buffet was excellent. I was nervous about them navigating Lisbon on their own but the concierge helped them find good restaurants close by and Fado performances as well as assisting with taxis. Thank you so much to the staff for looking after them so well!"

"The best thing about the property is there convenience in the location. It is right in the mix. It's a very short walk to a main subway station that they called in Metro. It is the bailable chiado station which connects you to virtually everything in the city. All three Subway rails are accessible from there including the two End Of The Line stations blue and green which gets you to the above ground high speed rail to take you anywhere in Portugal."

"We were there just one night and we arrived at midnight and left before 7am the next morning to catch a flight back home. So we did not eat breakfast so can’t rate that. The hotel is on a side street off the Main Street and does not have much frontage and is not well marked. And as it was dark we had a little trouble finding it. Be aware that there is no elevator so you will have to walk up the stairs. Also, the plumbing is very noisy. Whenever you flush the toilet or run the faucet there is a loud racket. The bathroom was very clean and had been updated. The person at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Oh, and the air conditioning worked fine."
