We just came back from a week at Paradisus Playa Del Carmen. The resort was terrific, great food, very well maintained grounds, beautiful beach. Unfortunately, our stay ended on a terrible note with some of the worst hospitality I’ve ever experienced. We had tried multiple times to secure late check out but were told repeatedly that they could not accommodate the request. So, we booked the hospitality suite for 3:00 given our pre-arranged airport transfer was coming at 3:45. We showed up at 2:55 for the suite and were told it wasn’t ready and they needed 15 minutes to prepare it. I asked if they could please expedite given our timing with our transport. We waited 10 minutes and then asked on the progress. The staff said it still hadn’t been cleaned but they would now call someone. I was upset that they hadn’t even called someone when we first arrived. We waited 5 more minutes and still no one showed up to clean. I asked the front desk staff Carlos to check the state of the suite. We went to look together and the room had wet floors and dirty used wet towels on the floor. He looked at that and said we could use it. I was completely floored at his lack of concern over the state of the room and his unwillingness to try to solve the problem. I asked to have it cleaned up for our use and he said he would call someone. There was absolutely no sense of urgency from the front desk staff at all and they were all completely unempathetic to the situation. Terrible way to end our trip.
