We arrived at 15:00 but their check-in systems was down. We were asked to wait for 5 mins, which turned into 20mins which then turned into a very frustrating 1hr 30 mins. Our friends were given a room card only to find another guest already in the room when they entered. We had booked an early dinner with other friends at Carbone which we were very late for,so we had no time to change and it ruined what was going to be a very relaxing evening. What made it all worse, was the staff at the hotel just didn't know what to do, as there seemed to be no back up their online system when it went down. Guest were left waiting in reception when even though rooms had been allocated they didn't want to give room keys out because they couldn't take a card deposit. In the end we had to insisted that they gave us our room card after asking more than 5 times. Having this poor experience with the check in, the room we were allocated was small and noisy being next to the road and not having double glazing. The stair carpet down to reception looked like it had not been cleaned in 20 years. For all of this dreadful experience no discount was offered and we left the next morning without having breakfast as we had totally lost faith with this hotel.
