No bar or breakfast due to COVID room nice but it would have been nice to enjoy a drink at the bar as advertised when I booked it said we could have dinks brought to us from the bar
Positives-The hotel is ideally placed for walks along the beach. The shower was great, nice and big. The terrace was a bonus, especially as at this time you can take your own food and drink into the area. A fan was in the room which was very useful as it was so hot. Dealing with the COVID restrictions well.
Negatives- We were in the Lewes room and the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and lumpy. The terrace was open in the morning at 7:30am but closed down at night at differing times. This was frustrating as we went back to the hotel twice with the intention of having a nightcap outside, to find it either closed off or closing.
I booked this hotel based on the amazing value for money - location and unique boutique room designs - due to CV19 check in was a little structured but understandable - sadly the breakfast wasn’t possible so s pre ordered breakfast was necessary - not really a big issue as incredibly tasty. The location of opposite the West Pier was perfect for my needs - the nearby regency car park was approx 500m away. We had an amazing sea view room on the first floor with a jacuzzi bath. Spacious and clean throughout. My only issue was that a neighbouring property decided to have an all night party resulting in virtually zero sleep. We did mention this to staff on our check out who confirmed its a regular thing and the culprits have ignored requests to control the volume - it was a really shame as this was my only issue. The staff are so so friendly and helpful - I think it may be worth having earplugs in the room in future just incase it happens again - or take some yourselves!

Great view
Great location and view (we had a sea view) but expect traffic noise being where it is. Attention was paid to all the Covid requirements. Staff were super friendly. Room was spacious but as it was the hottest day of the year the room was like a sauna. Fan provided. Needs a shower which is standard for most hotels.
original room was ok but had a clear view ti the road outside, where people could look in,asked if they had a seaview room we could upgrade to at a cost if £20 per night,in hindsight we should have looked at the riom before committing to use it,as upon opening the door it looked like a brothel, the carpet had no lining, bed was horrendous, the room was painted black,( very unappealing),bathroom was dirty ( appreciating no housekeeping due to covid )
very awkward to get in2 the jacuzzi bath, the fitting for the shower was loose, maybe they have taken time to deep clean everything when hotel couldnt open,be aware of severe road noise if you stay...we will NOT be staying there again
Stayed at the Granville for 8 nights. We were upgraded to the Prince Regent room which had fabulous views of the BA 360 area. Restaurant is closed but bagel breakfast was delivered each morning to our room which we ate with a wonderful view of the West Pier and was very relaxing. No room cleaning at the moment due to Covid restrictions but towels can be exchanged. The Staff are very friendly and welcoming the hotel is quirky with each room having a different theme. Quite a lot of the bars /restaurants in Brighton have not reopened yet and needed to book tables in advance in some pubs. We had a takeaway on the terrace one evening and you can order drinks from the hotel. Weather wise had a lovely week of mainly sunshine and no rain 😊 We will definitely be returning to the Granville - British resorts need our support this year more than ever and this hotel is worth the trip to Brighton

A break at last
Very good considering only just opened after COVID-19.
Adapted very well to the new norm
We accepted the offer of contenental breakfast for additonal charge but when we were told it consisted of a jam bagel, banana and water we asked for a refund. We were refused. Our 'breakfast' arrived in a paper bag. Not good. Room had torn funiture and broken curtains. Disappointing stay. However the jucuzzi bath was great.
Really nice room, we actually got upgraded to a sea view room with a hot tub style bath! Overall very nice service and a very clean comfortable room! Would highly recommend and would absolutely stay at The Granville again.
The sea view and whirlpool bath along with the best breakfast ever really makes this hotel stand out from others. It is an old hotel and some parts are rather tired such as the windows, this wouldn't stop me from booking again, we had a great stay.
This was a lastminute trip quickly booked, and it really delivered. It is a lovely small hotel, with more character than the big chain hotel. We had a cosy ocean view room with a spa. Wonderful location, great check in and check out service, excellent breakfast from the restaurant in the basement. Definitely would recomend and return.
Great position, wonderful view and amazing bath. If you do have such a feature bath however it should be immaculately clean and it wasn't, i imagine the debris that i found in the bath when i went to use it was from around the air holes for the Jacuzzi.
Musique très forte le vendredi soir provenant d'un établissement proche. Impossible de dormir. Est-ce identique le samedi ? Et plancher bruyant si vous n'êtes pas au dernier étage.
This hotel was perfect for our Brighton break. Everything surpassed our expectations for this hotel and the room rate. Friendly staff, large clean boutique style rooms with really good facilities (spa bath, iron and board in room hairdryer tea coffee, biscuits, bottled water, toiletries) and an amazing breakfast (Good choice from a menu and served not buffet style.) We were going to book a chain but so glad we took a chance on this place. Would stay here again. It’s right on the seafront by the old pier and 15 mins stroll to the new pier and and a 15 min walk into the laines/centre and 1 min to the regent sq multi-storey car park and A few mins to Preston street with many authentic restaurants (Greek, Chinese, Italian etc) if you don’t want to walk into the centre.
The suite was warm and roomy with a lush bath. DVD player provided in the lounge, which is good because there are hardly any TV channels. Plenty of tea /coffee /sugar /milk provided too. The Seaview from the ground floor was lovely, even though there was torrential rain and strong winds.
Smokeys restaurant is located downstairs and is amazing, fabulous food and great portions. The pulled pork was delicious! Also, one gets 10% off the bill.
My only negative is the bed. It's seen better days, the wooden bed frame is knackered, you only have to blink and it creaks. The mattress is no better, that too needs updating. Both my partner and I slept poorly.
We stayed in the black rock room. The jacuzzi was amazing and the room was a good size. Breakfast was great and the place was in a good location. Will come back.
Fab location and building, oozing with character. Lovely, large, comfortable room with sea view from huge bay window and luxury bathroom. Breakfast was excellent with loads of choices. Friendly, helpful staff. Really can't fault anything, very happy to recommend
