Very family friendly and the staff was amazing. Also had a gluten free breakfast area and some good options for dinner, including gluten free pasta! There is almost zero beach access now though. We were disappointed by that.

Lovely hotel, great staff, definitely worth getting a room with a view of the pool/sea. Close to hawker market for food options. Need to take bus to go into George Town however, but bus stop is right outside the hotel so pretty convenient.

Reasonable but tired.

The Golden Sands is getting very tired. I have stayed there before many years ago and there had been little done to the property. The grounds are lovely but the beach has suffered greatly with much of the foreshore being washed away compared to25-20 years ago. Given the cost I was hoping for more.
