"Really easy hotel to stay at. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of it. Staff were really helpful and it was cheap and easy for us to stay a few extra hours. They go out of their way to make sure you are happy. Comfortable beds and rooms. "

"A great hotel albeit food prices are quite high but quality is good. If you like a drink you can get alcohol but again it can be pricey. The staff a re very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping are brilliant and Afzal kept are room in fine form. There is a lot of wildlife in the gardens. The breakfast is an unbelievable experience with food choices for every nation. We ate out at night using various vendors and never had a bad meal. The main pool is an absolute picture as is the Beach where you can take a boat to monkey beach or take a swim."

"We stayed at the golden sands by shangri-la in penang 5th to 8th of july. We had a beach /pool facing room which i would strongly recommend. Rooms are spacious and clean, buffet breakfast had a wide variety of food, plenty of pool activities and areas of entertainment for kids,I would highly recommend this hotel to any type of visitor "

"Arrived at the hotel at about 5 pm and was attended to by Staff Rimon at the counter, he is exceptionally welcoming and therefore making my check in especially pleasant. As I had make the booking just a day ago and it seems that the booking has not reflected yet in the system, he kindly explained to me and assured me that it would not be an issue. Additionally as my return flight is pretty late, he also try to accommodate my request for late check out as well as a high floor unit. The hotel also had a shuttle bus that operates in the evening to the nearby Queensbay mall and Rimon as well kindly did a reservation for me to and fro just to make sure that I have a seat on the shuttle. From the hotel is about a 15 minutes drive on the shuttle to the mall :). Just outside the hotels, there are stretches and plenty of food places. My stay here has been exceptionally pleasant and felt very welcoming especially because of Rimon, it nice to see him at the counter with his alway wide and warm welcoming smile :) The hotel booked is a family unit and is 94 sqm in size. It has a nice view of Penang island and that it has 2 bedrooms with 2 bathroom as well as a study room. It comes with also a balcony and also a living and dining area. Both of the bedrooms window have very good city view. We also managed to catch some fireworks on the night of the 28 June :). The decoration of the executive family suites is very modern and it really have the feel of home :). "

"Suite was fabulous, nice lobby and all staff were very friendly. Sattar who took care of our room during our stay was excellent. Only downside was there’s only 2 elevators for 24 floors."
