"The hotel is well located within a few minutes walk to the centre. It is pleasant, set in leafy grounds with ample parking. It's reception is traditional rather than modern and the rooms, whilst clean are getting a little tired showing wear and tear in some areas. Breakfast room is glass fronted so bright and airy, buffet breakfast is average hotel fayre, enough variety to fill you with your favourite foods. Our party of 14 stayed 3 nights, the only thing I wasn't too happy about is the cost of drinks in the bar and parking - bar prices encouraged us to go in to town and drink elsewhere, parking at £12.50 per night was far too expensive considering we were resident - that added an extra £300 to our combined bill."

"Really disappointed. One night stay for >£150, then told the gym was an extra £12 charge and breakfast an extra £16 (+£5 for standard breakfast items) making it £21 for 2 poached eggs on toast! My room was 2 single beds pushed together both of which had springs coming out the mattress. Bathroom was filthy, 2 members of staff entered my room without knocking. Woman on reception was helpful and the only shining light in this overpriced hotel."

"Room air con made a lot of noise to no effect, consequently room was hot at night. Bathroom extractor fan broken and room smelt damp. Wash basin plug did not seal effectively requiring tap to be left running when in use. Breakfast good. Position excellent for RSC."

"Lovely clean modern room in the separate and brand new mews building as that's where the dog friendly rooms are. Beautifully kept grounds. Only fault - no outside litter bins, which you need with a dog. Staff were great. Food was, surprisingly, given the high standard of everything else, a little disappointing."

"Room is good size and comfortable. Aircon didn’t work very well. Some reception staff were good but one, possibly new, didn’t seem to know what to do. We’ve stayed before and it’s very handy for the theatre with plenty of parking at reasonable cost. We didn’t have breakfast this time as we’ve eaten there before and it was dreadful. We had tea in the bar while waiting for checkin but were driven out by the awful muzac and the constant thudding, headache inducing beat in every song. Unfortunately you could also hear it in the nearby sitting room. Guests should be aware that there are no lifts and frequent short flights of steps with no ramps."

"Our stay at Hotel du Vin was lovely. The room was comfortable and clean. Very tastefully decorated. Great central location for touring Stratford. All the main attractions were within. Walking distance. Food was nicely presented. Good breakfast we had dinner there twice… Staff were very pleasant. We would definitely stay there again."

"This is our favourite place to stay in Stratford. Right in the town centre, convenient to everywhere. Lovely rooms - well appointed, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff are lovely too, always very helpful. I don't normally eat breakfast but on this occasion we did and that was excellent too."
