"I am not really sure why the reviews here so poorly match the state of the hotel. It’s run down and a more than a bit grubby. The staff are lovely and helpful and do their best to take care of you but it doesn’t really make up for the fact that the hotel needs some serious upkeep. "

"I just completed my fifth stay -- 8 nights this time around -- at the French Market Inn and it was absolutely wonderful, as always. The staff is so kind, and the location is close to Jackson Square, the riverfront, and easy streetcar access. The entire Quarter is easily walkable. The courtyard is a collection of classic 18th century buildings built around an impossibly lush and lovely courtyard complete with fountains and a small sparkling plunge pool. The rooms feature original brick details...
