"Beautiful hotel and gardens with a bar and restaurant on-site. We had a lovely time wandering the grounds with a cocktail and even felt a bit like royalty. A breakfast buffet was included and had great options. The rooms are a little older and dated - it was hot in the room - because I don’t think we had a/c - but they were very clean and the beds were comfortable. (Make sure you check out the hotel museum in the basement - it’s really interesting!"

"Truly the best property in Portree. Yes you are outside of town centre, but it is within a 10 minute walk which we easily did a few times. The hotel was incredible. My husband and I were celebrating our honeymoon and the pictures do not do it justice ! It is by far one of the most romantic places I’ve stayed . "Super easy to get to and the parking is right out front. The outside of the hotel is not much to look at but it does face the lake. Inside is a little worn but the staff is really nice and welcoming. You get an actual room key. As in a metal door key. Kind of a throwback but cool. The room was comfortable and clean, updated bathroom. Minimal noise but I could hear the shower in the room next door. You can adjust the temperature but I couldn't figure it out which is probably me. The staff...

"The hotel is very nice and position excellent. Our room 935 did have its problems. The heating was stuck on max and the radiator cap did not turn it off. The tv remote did not work (I think batteries flat) and there was a wifi blackspot in the main bedroom. I told reception about the issues before i left and so i hope they addressed them, we got in late and were only staying one night so didnt let them know in real time. Wouldn’t let it stop me staying again but should be on a pre-let...

"This is an old hotel right next to the train station. It was very convenient for me to stay the night before my trip to Glasgow. I booked a cozy single room for the night. The room is very tiny. The bed is very tiny. But that’s what I booked. So it shouldn’t have been a surprise. The Bathroom was surprisingly large given how tiny everything else was. The towels were nice water was a bit lukewarm. There was a heated towel rack which was nice. The shower is also very tiny.The bed was comfortable...

We were quite disappointed that there was construction happening immediately outside our window on the adjacent property - maybe 10 ft from our window. There was load banging and power tool noises from 7am - 7pm. While I understand that is not necessarily within the hotel's control, the staff did not even mention it to us upon check in, and there was no one manning the check out area when we went to check...

"The location is perfect and the lounge has beautiful views. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel and my room were clean. However, I stayed in a single room and the en suite was the smallest I have ever seen - definitely only suited for small to medium people! I will not hesitate to stay there again."
