"We absolutely loved our stay at the Royal Lion. Perfect location, lovely room and great service. Breakfast was a nice experience with plenty of choice. Sharon on reception was really helpful and made check-in and out an easy, seamless experience."

"If you get it for the right price, it can be great value for money. I do believe it’s going to be converted to apartments so, the bar is not well stocked and nothings been refurbished for a long time! Breakfast was decent and we found the room comfortable. It’s also in a great location."

"The kitchenette rooms are lovely and spacious with good facilities. Beds are huge and super comfy, TV was massive! Room was clean and quiet. Staff both at reception and at the breakfast were very friendly and made you feel at ease. Breakfast was especially good with lots of nice options, you don’t feel rushed to get in and out so you can really take your time in there. A lovely stay."

"Very basic small room. It was very hot and the a/c did not appear to be working. Also you could hear voices from adjoining room. £7 to park overnight. Outrageous car parking should be free."

"Positives - location perfect for exploring Exeter and The Quay. Bathroom was nice and more recently refurbished. Carpark was straightforward but you pay. Bar man very helpful, went out of his way to find some peppermint tea, very grateful. Staff were friendly but no one explained about the £10 pp charge to swim… we were simply told we could use the leisure facilities while we stayed. It was cheap but a poor choice - no sleep, bedroom and communal areas tired. Bed had no mattress protector,...

"Fantastic stay at the Telstar. Staff were so friendly when I arrived, showing me to my room. It was very clean, comfy and practical! Free parking is an absolute gem in Exeter, so was very grateful for that. I'll definitely stay again when I'm next down."

"Great for a nights stay in the heart of Exeter. Clean, tidy, on site parking for £10 a night (car can stay until 2pm) Very old building so bit of a maze but that’s part of its charm. No AC so would be hot in summer."
