The car parking for the hotel is a bit limited: so first come, first served. This annexe room would have been fine in autumn, but in a heatwave (25 degrees Celsius outside) it was essentially...

"The room was very small bathroom very small arrived early to leave luggage in storage but took 10 mins to find someone no one was answering the phone numbers on the desk but when they did finally arrive they let us in our room early without early check in charge tv has a fire stick which is impossible to watch need to sign into everything but was very slow wifi was very bad so gave up apart from that the staff was friendly and the room was clean would go back but not in the same room"

"Quality of breakfast could be improved. Room was an oven, even with a medocre fan. Price quoted on Expedia didn't make it obviously clear that the Spa facilities were not included in the quoted rate. So, I paid a lot more than I would have..."

"A lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings, the staff were amazing so friendly welcoming & helpful. The hotel offers a few nice touches such as a packed lunch as well as welcoming drinks in your room. Our room was in a separate building, it was spacious & comfortably equipped if a little dated, our only issue was the intrusive noise from the room above, it was only a minor problem & we would happily stay here again"

"A little gem that we will definitely return to. Rooms were finished to a high quality - not just style over substance. Beds comfy, shower amazing, hot tub fab and one of the best nights sleep for a while. Paired with excellent food and service at Bowling Green Inn, would highly recommend 👍"

"No staff there to check us in - had to go find someone but to be fair they were doing double duty in bar and hotel. Room itself was clean and tidy but hallway carpets weren’t great. Breakfast was delicious. Could use a mini fridge in the room. Parking was ample."

"Location is great for us. We stayed in Room 3 in the courtyard as we had a small dog with us and they are not allowed in the Main Hotel rooms. We have stayed in this room before - its an excellent size but on the first floor. It seems to have been modernised from when we were last there which was nice. We didn't have breakfast or evening meal there as it is "hotel prices". Within walking distance of the hotel is one of the best pubs in Derbyshire - The Hollybush Inn - great beer and grub."
