Sandman Signature Sheffield Quays Hotel

Sandman Signature Sheffield Quays Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We had a room with a balcony which was nice. The lobby bar and restaurant were good and convenient. The well equipped gym facilities and pool/sauna were a nice bonus. Nespresso in the room was a step above typical hotel room coffee - though machine was a little hard to figure out at first. Convenient walking distance to train station and city centre. Nice to be in a quieter part of town. Overall a pleasant stay."

Village Hotel Manchester Ashton

Village Hotel Manchester Ashton

8/10 Good
"Air con not working in club room with no maintenance on site, gave us another room which was a bit of hassle as we were on our way out with tickets to a gig. But we were happy with new room. Says water in the room but this is a filtered tap, not sure how you are meant to know that? Disappointed that the bar closed at 11pm for residents. Nightmare trying to get a drink at the bar as staff are prioritising regulars, regardless of how long other people have been waiting. Room service was lovely, although the woman who bought it to us looked very irritated and put out. We had to carry in red hot plates as she wouldnโ€™t bring the trolley in for us to unload. No condiments with food, no salt pepper etc, although had asked for it. Just little things like staff attitude. But all in all a comfortable few days."

Buxton Crescent

Buxton Crescent

8/10 Good
"The stand out feature is definitely the excellent spa with 3 pools including an indoor/outdoor rooftop pool, 3 different types of saunas, ice showers, steam room, relaxation room and various treatment rooms. The hotel lounges and bar areas are OK but not overly cosy and welcoming - that's not to say they're bad - just OK. Rooms were clean and included bottles of Buxton water, tea and coffee and a couple of biscuits. We did have to ask to get some toiletries refreshed but that was fixed pretty quickly with apologies. Breakfast options are again reasonable but why only Mothers Pride style bread?? You get buffet with cereals, yogurts, pastries, some fruit, porridge on request, various cooked options. Not all items on the breakfast card were available. The staff were very friendly and hard working - hence the slightly slow service on occasion . Location is excellent and it's easy to park for drop off although you may want to park elsewhere to avoid ยฃ30/night valet parking. (Off street may have limited time up to 4 hours but generally free from after 6pm until 8am)."

"Superb stay. Lovely hotel and room. One of the most spacious showers that have ever used. Provided fan came in useful as room quite hot when we entered. Am not an expert at working out how to use coffee machines, so pleased that they supplied a kettle when I asked. Providing biscuits and more teas/coffees on each floor was a novel and welcome feature. Very nice breakfast. Ultra tasty sausages and top quality yoghurts. Plenty of bananas, although croissants not the best. Will definitely be returning if in the area."

"The reception staff were very friendly and helpful when asking for additional pillows ( only 1 pp provided). The breakfast was good and tasty and plenty of attentive staff if needed. The hotel rooms however are very tired with very poor decor standards. Tiles in the bathroom were miss-matched and grubby and flooring lifting in places. Was surprised to have to pay ยฃ5 to park the car as a resident though"

Radisson Blu Hotel, Sheffield

Radisson Blu Hotel, Sheffield

10/10 Excellent
"We had a really lovely stay at the Radisson Blu Sheffield. The hotel is beautifully designed, very clean and the rooms are a great size. Check-in was really easy and the customer service throughout was excellent. We were also really impressed with the housekeeping team. We accidentally left some money behind in the room after checking out, and it was found, logged and we were contacted through the hotelโ€™s lost-property system. It was very reassuring and says a lot about how trustworthy and professional the team are. The only issue we had was getting to the hotel and the parking. A number of the surrounding roads were closed, so finding the hotel initially was a bit of a challenge. We also had to take a longer route to get to the car park, which added around 10 minutes to the journey. Once parked though, the walk back to the hotel was only about five minutes, so it wasnโ€™t too bad. Apart from that, we had no complaints at all. Great location, lovely hotel, spacious rooms and excellent service. We would definitely stay again."
