A nice travellers rest inn, we had a very spacious ground floor room with an equally spacious ensuite, the room was a little noisy early evening, but was generally quiet overnight. Well located in the centre of Bakewell close to all the town has to offer. The adjoining pub has a great atmosphere with excellent food and drinks. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Very clean room & the free parking is a great asset when staying in Bakewell. We had the Hathersage room which was a decent size & had a private bathroom. Since it's on a main road it may be a little noisy for some. Overall would recommend.
A really great traditional inn, great food, brilliant atmosphere and the staff couldn't be more helpful. The bonus of a private car park in Bakewell is a pearl beyond price, as parking, especially on market days is at a premium. I would have given the max stars had the room, which was OK had not been a little small ( it was named BAKEWELL).
There you go.
You cannot reserve a carpark place but we had no problem getting one whenever we returned after a day out. Room was great and even had a fan supplied for this hot spell food menu was good and our meals were great. Perfect base for visiting local area and lovely town and river walks for evening strolls.

This is a lovely pub and the food was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean but basic. The bed had crisp white sheets on and was comfy. I’d use it again for a one night stop over.

Lovely room, had everything you needed and was put together really well. Really convenient location and even though it was near the main road it was actually really quiet during sleeping hours. I’d stay there again if back in Bakewell.
Friendly staff, clean snd spacious room with everything needed. Comfy bed, spare heaters, powerful shower and bath. Only downside was noise from outside, room was just off the beer garden and next to road, thin wooden door and windows meant it was noisy in room.
Our over all experience were amazing. The staff were all lovely and accomodating. The food were delicious and the place was great as it was situated in the centre where you stroll around and it safe as well.
Very kind staff for both the stay and dinner, accommodating for requests. The room had a cozy classic vibe and remodeled recently. The inn is right in the center of the town and very walkable with lots of little places around for food and shopping. The food at the attached restaurant was fantastic all around!
The hotel is on a very good position next to all the places you want to be, near the river, bus route, market place and shops.
I just thought it was in need of a spruce up.
A traditional old style public house. We enjoyed our stay. The room was as expected, clean and tidy, and we were pleased to have a full bath in the ensuite.
The location is perfect, being very central to all the local amenities and shops.
The employees were friendly, professional and they made the environment feel good.
The food was typical of a Greene King pub, reasonably priced and thoroughly enjoyed!
I would recommend a stay here, if you enjoy traditional style, central location ( with good parking outside), traditional English foods and beautiful walks nearby.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were great and freshly cooked. There was a good choice for the dinner menu and very good quality food. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone. Thanks for great stay.
Nice clean bedroom, with a comfy bed. Stone floor, l think it would accommodate dogs, slippers were provided for guests use. We had a ground floor room, it was noisy as it was on a busy road. The bedroom was tired but fine for our two night stay.
The staff were great and did everything to please its residents.
Breakfast was super, a good choice and well cooked.
Parking was great, a secure carpark for guests.
The lady on check in was really nice and helpful , we didnt use the bar . Ample parking for overnight stays and the room was brilliant too. My only concern which didn't really bother us was the bath was slippy when showering.
We'd definitely stay again 10 out of 10 from us .
Had lunch which was nice and 2 breakfasts. Bed was comfy. Ceiling could do with painting. Staff were friendly.

Staff very good.
Room had too many flaws-very small, bed light did not work, cold stone floor, dark room, minimal window opening as door and window opened directly onto pub roadside patio.
Good shower
