"This apartment was off the beaten path just around the corner from a small canal. We were on the 3rd floor, there’s no elevator, so that was a hike. View from the room to see the canal we had to stick our head out of the window and look to the right. The staff was extremely welcoming, a surprise of snack was a welcomed surprise! "Ugh got the 1st floor - traveling solo I always try to avoid for safety. But they were full - claimed I was upgraded to bigger room - I would have rather kept my single small one up higher. But worse - the first floor is a dark like a basement. The windows are darkly frosted so no view no light no idea weather outside let alone natural light. may as well not had any windows. Horrid would never go back."

"Venice is one of those complicated cities to navigate so it's hard to optimize for the "best location". It was a bit of a long walk and lots of stairs from the train station and bus terminal. Even if you take a vaporetto it's a winding walk through the streets---only a taxi could get you conveniently to this hotel.
