"We stayed in the main building where is obvious it is under renovation, (should probably be disclosed when booking). The room was spacious with a lovely big bed, issue was it was nearly 30° when we stayed and there was no air con in the room just a dusty tower fan and a window that only opened a jar. Also the lighting in the room is poor, I had to put a flash light over the 1 full length mirror to do my make up to go out. When we arrived at the hotel check in was easy enough but it is at 4pm...

"I had a single bedroom on the 4th floor away from the street but facing the rails. Eventhough it is 5 min away from Victoria station, you can hear every train arriving and departing the station. Even with earplugs I can feel the rumbling of the trains. I know this is not something that the hotel can influence however I wanted to let future travelers know. Maybe take a room facing the street - it could be quieter, but I am not sure. The staff was very nice and quiet forthcoming!"

"We had a delightful one night stay at the Rubens, centrally located right across from Buckingham Palace’s Royal Mews or stables. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the breakfast was served in a gorgeous room with booths and chandeliers. We were traveling with our teen son so the suite with a pull out couch made it a high value fit for us so we could stay in one room. The room decoration was festive and royal feeling.
