"Staff was wonderful, hotel was clean, food was surprisingly good. We booked a room with an ocean view and it was worth every penny in my opinion. Docked one star simply for the condition of some of the areas around the hotel (a bit rundown in some outside areas, pool grout chipping, paint peeling in some spots - but nothing too bad) and the constant asking about spa services while at the pool. Not aggressive or pushy, just asking too much. I had just come from a massage and an hour later was being asked about spa while at the pool. I did have a massage and it was really nice - but didn’t love my facial. Overall great experience, great staff, great stuff for kids. We stayed on resort the whole time and our kids had a blast at the kids club. "

"Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Riu Santa Fe. This was our first time at this Riu and we were fully aware that there was no top shelf alcohol and that the food was basically all buffet style with the exception of two restaurants, both of which had fairly basic menus. But the food was not bad, just not fantastic. The resort was kept extremely clean and it was huge so there was always something new to do or see. I'd suggest avoiding spring break time as the young kids that overtook the resort on the last day of our trip were outrageous. The beach was beautiful and the view was spectacular. The staff were great for the most part. Dessi at the pool bar Tequila was a blast! And Reyna at reception made sure we got the most beautiful view from our room. The only negative experience was that when we went to check out 10 mins before our shuttle arrived, there was a long line and then we were told that since we didn't have our towel cards we'd have to pay 7.00 per towel even though our towels were in the room. We were never told at check-in that we'd need to return the towel cards and we didn't even think about it. So my husband had to run back to our room, which was 10-15 mins from check-out to bring her the physical towels to avoid being charged. While I was waiting for him to get back I saw the same thing happen to 2-3 other families. So that communication at the time of check-in needs to be made more clear. Otherwise it seems semi intentional to force people to pay "

"The receptionists' service leaves nothing to be desired; they answer rudely and are unhelpful. The food is repetitive and very expensive for the service."

"Somehow our room got canceled so we had to pay even more for a brand new room, the beach is amazing a bunch of beach chairs, great bartenders, all of the restaurants are pretty much the same thing, clean pools amazing time overa. Beautiful stay at Emporio, there is also a Oxxo and 7-11 walking distance!"
