"My Room, was clean comfortable and welcoming. Had a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed. Food in the bar (Indian) was among the best I've had, service quick and friendly. A good stay. Just as a note the rooms are up steep stairs at the back of the pub which wouldn't be suitable for anyone with a mobility issue"

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean It would have been nice to have a fridge and a safe in the room to store my passport and valuables It would have been nice to have an iron and drawers to put things into. I stayed for 5 nights so all the above would have made the stay a better experience"

Only grumble was that we left windows open and there was a lot of traffic noise in the morning - should have used the fan (provided) instead, so our mistake. "Comfortable bed, clean and tidy room! Staff very helpful & polite. Used restaurant for dinner, and food was very good, reasonably priced too. One issue is the £5 parking charge on check-out! The system will not let you complete the check-out process until you make the payment. Irrespective if you have paid parking in advance to check-in (HGV parking account with SNAP)."

"This is a lovely historic hotel and we enjoyed our stay apart from one thing (but this was promptly rectified) : initially we had a front bedroom facing the road which was busy and noisy all through the night. Fortunately we were able to upgrade to a rear bedroom which was wonderfully spacious and with much better facilities. The staff were very pleasant, polite and efficient, the hotel was fascinating and well-kept, and we would certainly stay there again."
