Nice grounds and communal areas. Room was a bit shabby and definitely dated. Single glazed windows made it a bit cold too.

There were one or two drawbacks, my room was on the second floor with no lift available, however, my luggage was carried up the stairs for me by the receptionist. There was a problem on the first night with air conditioning, but this was remedied the next day. Overall I would not hesitate to return to the hotel next time I am in St Albans.
