"Cottage clean and tidy on arrival, with milk, eggs, and even Easter eggs left for us! The cottage was as described, lovely little place, good sized bathroom, and bedroom, and combined lounge/kitchen area. Dog towels and treats were supplied by our host, Trisha, who was most helpful and friendly, and there was an enclosed area for exercising dogs, which was very useful. "A property of former grandeur that is now a little rough around the edges! Our room was spacious with an excellent view of the garden but seemed to be at the furthest and highest extremity of the building. The bathroom facilities were excellent and the shower was great. The leisure centre was a bonus along with the provision of bathrobes. The staff were polite and helpful but seemed a bit stretched. We enjoyed a stroll round the grounds."

"All the staff were welcoming and friendly and are a credit to the hotel. They loved our dog too - Toby who was rewarded with a welcome box and treats during our stay - even giving a sausage at breakfast. We can’t thank the staff enough, when we realised that my husband had left his wallet in the bedroom. The reception team contacted us and went above and beyond to send his wallet back!m. Both the housekeeper’s and receptionist are exceptional! The room was lovely with great pillows and mattress - something that’s very important to me and you don’t always get it from a hotel stay. The hotel is in a great location, next to the river and with lovely outdoor seating and a car park too! It’s great that you have a car park This was our first time visiting Blandford Forum as we our considering our next move and Blandford Forum is at the top of our list. "

"Nice to have a late check in option. The 10pm cut off came in really handy for me. Lovely cooked and cold breakfast options. Room was great, bottle of water were a lovely touch. I wasn’t expecting housekeeping on day one of a two day stay, I didn’t need anything but nice to have the option. Lovely place and people thank you "

"Booked an overnight stay and dinner for my birthday. Perfect location for a stroll around Shaftesbury with parking, but we booked because of the hotel restaurant. Room was clean, cosy and comfortable, the hotel had character. The restaurant was excellent, with faultless service from the time we spent in the bar deciding on our choices to coffee and petit fours there after dinner. Great food and very good value. My venison was excellent and the wine of the month a great recommendation. Breakfast was exceptional - plenty of choice and prepared to order. Very happy to recommend."
