"The hotel is in an excellent position, right on Copacabana beach. It has a very old fashioned feel about it and could definitely do with a spruce up. The room felt dark but everything worked and it was perfectly acceptable. The breakfast choice was good and so was the service. The provision of beach towels was a bonus. The pool is very small. "This is a top hotel! I don't quite understand the negative reviews left. It's at least a four-star hotel and is excellent with staff, reception, and restaurant services. There are always several receptionists on duty, along with several porters. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and serves many local dishes, along with the more traditional. The hotel has granite floors throughout and a wonderful panoramic view of Copacabana. I did upgrade my room once I got there and was so glad I did. ...

"Sent five emails no response from property regarding transport to property and tours. Staff nice bit know very little about getting to sites, cost open times, etc just try to sell overpriced tour. Kitchen facility limited supplies and not clean."

"Staff were amazing! Helpful and friendly. Can arrange airport transfer for you. They all spoke English very well. There is a common area downstairs with a bar and free filtered water and lots of plugs to charge your electronics. The bunk beds were a little scary, very unstable. You only get two sheets and a pillow case so if you get a free blanket on your airline keep it! There is one plug in each bed spot. Rooms are air conditioned. It was a little expensive for a shared room with bunk beds but...

"The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was decent but at night we saw large roaches/waterbugs in the eating area due to the windows being open. Did not see them during the day nor while eating. The rooms did not have wifi although staff said it did. Room was very tight, cable continuously interrupted and we had to unplug box and take out card multiple times to watch tv, most stations in Portuguese and room was not very clean. Towels and sheets had stains after being washed...
