"Convenient place to stay, right next to train station. The bed was hard and uncomfortable and the pillows were flat, and you could hear doors closing and loud noises at night, hence the 4 stars. The room was nice and the bathroom was lovely. I enjoyed the safe and mini fridge."

"My recent day at the Hilton in York York is a beautiful city as I entered the Hilton hotel was told the car park was full and I had to book which I did not know lucky my disabled partner had a disabled badge where we could stay over the road, which wasnโt too bad walked into reception they were very pleasant and polite stayed in my room 241 as I entered, I was pleasantly surprised but a bit of a downside was the room was a little bit dusty like it had not been checked and rushed. I went to the room then immediately went out on the plus side the bed was very comfy a little bit of a negative the bath Matt in the room was disgusting. Black underneath showerhead did not stay up expected a lot more from the Hilton being it was my first stay there. I thought it would be fabulous and I was wow but it was just like any other hotel maybe you need to address this if you read this comment Would I stay there again? Probably yes because it is very close to everything. Would I pay the same price? Probably not"

"We had a junior suite which was large. The room was clean but we noticed the hotel could do with some maintenance /upgrade. Carpet looked a bit old and the shower handles kept sticking. We had to ask for help. Staff are very good and excellent breakfast."

"We have just returned from a very enjoyable stay. The rooms were very clean and well equipped and reception staff were very kind to organise an extra duvet for us for our second night. Breakfast was excellent, the freshly made waffles was a first for us and we definitely ate far too many. Can also recommend the SPARKS food market opposite for a very convenient dinner option."

"We received a warm welcome from staff when we arrived. Our room was clean and spacious with a kettle to make hot drinks, you can also get unlimited coffee, tea, sugar and milk in reception which is useful. There was a large selection to choose from for breakfast, the cooked breakfast was all nice and warm. Parking is free but make sure you enter your car reg on the iPad in reception. This is our second visit to this hotel and we will visit again as itโs in a good location."

"Upon arrival we were advised that we had received a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was lovely as we were visiting York for our wedding anniversary. Room was lovely and clean, the bathroom was huge and very clean. Hotel bar was very nice, lots of choice for drinks, lovely seating area with a great atmosphere. We also had breakfast great choices available, help your self tea and coffee and fruit juices. Novotel York is a great base for exploring the town, about 5-10 minute walk away, you can also walk alongside the river which is lovely. Would definitely recommend and we will be staying again"
