"We are so happy we stayed here while in Kyoto, the staff were fantastic. A large selection of dining options within walking distance and a few different train stations all within walking distances as well."
"Our stay at the Shijo Takakura Hotel grandreverie was great! It was the most memorable room of our trip to Japan, a great design and lots of space. The stone shower and bathtub were especially luxury. The staff was incredibly attentive. It's the one place we'd immediately go again!"

"Amazing, would book again, lobby was very nice, liked the stamp postcard activity and the live translator device at the reception desk. Best stay we had in Tokyo."
"Very clean and modern with a vibe throughout. Great lobby area, original with comfy sofas, seats for board games, record player, fresh bread all day and drinks too. Great selection of board games to sit and play too.
Very helpful staff and great amenities.
The room was beautiful, clean and modern, cosy and luxurious. Amazing shower. One of the best hotels and completely underrated!!"
"This was one of the best parts of my stay in Kyoto! An absolute amazing ryokan. Ending each day with the onsen and icecream bars was the nicest way to unwind. I hope to stay here every time I come back."
"Breakfast was amazing and the tranquility is breath taking. Will definitely book again. Great value for money. Only thing is rooms need updating but still absolutely old world feel which is good. Very clean!"
"This was a great stay and we would come back here again for sure. We got the room with the king bed and i have never seen a king bed like this. It was gigantic! You could have easily put 4 people in there! It was also comfortable. We used the onsite onsen and it was wonderful. It had about 4-5 pools, one was cold which i loved and one was outside. It was very clean and very enjoyable and had many amenities. There was a restaurant on site, but we didn't eat there. There was a fridge in the room but it didn't have a freezer compartment. "
