Hotels near Kyoto Art Center

"I recently stayed at Oriental Hotel Kyoto Rokujo and unfortunately my experience was disappointing. The room was quite noisy, which made it difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep. During check-in, the staff did not clearly explain the hotel amenities. There was no mention of welcome drinks or available coffee, and I had to figure things out on my own. They also didn’t provide any helpful guidance on how to access nearby public transportation like buses or the subway, which was inconvenient as a visitor. In general, the service felt lacking. The staff did not greet guests consistently when coming and going, which made the overall atmosphere feel less welcoming. In comparison, I stayed at Toyoko Inn Osaka and found their staff to be much more friendly, attentive, and polite. Additionally, the location of Oriental Hotel Kyoto was not very convenient. It felt quite far from major subway stations, making it less ideal for getting around the city. Overall, due to the noise, lack of service, and inconvenient location, I’m not sure I would choose to stay at this hotel again."

"We had a family room and really appreciated the space. But also just loved everything about this Hotel. Staff were great, breakfast was really good, and daily sake was a nice touch. The energy of the place was really nice."

"Modern and stylish hotel well situated in Kyoto central area within walking distance of many attractions. Staff is friendly and eager to help. Breakfast had a wide selection of well made option. I would stay there again and recommend it as great option. The public onsen was a nice experience. We also reserved the private onsen and it was an excellent experience. "

"My favorite hotel in Japan! It was absolutely perfect in every way. Clean, beautifully decorated, helpful staff, easy check in, super quiet, comfortable beds, room size was large and felt more like a small apartment with a sitting area and dividing doors. Location is near so many popular spots Gion, Nishiki Market, Pontocho Alley, lots of shops and restaurants, the river and close to subway stations. I did not want to leave. Highly recommend! "

"The hotel is a comfortable distance away from various sites and quite close to the subway station, making it easy to go to places. The breakfast buffet was good and had different options. The room was clean and colorful, although a bit cramped with the third bed that was moved into the room to accommodate our family (I did stub my toe haha), but we did not expect the room to be any bigger. The staff were respectful. Overall, a very good hotel! "
