"Expedia shows a noon check-in but in fact once I arrived the staff informed me that it was actually 3 PM but a room is available and I was allowed in at about 1220. Throughout my stay staff was extremely attentive and helpful. I love being able to have a cozy fire in the evening and the room was adorned with all manner of African art, modern amenities, and a tasty breakfast the next morning. "This is my second time staying at the Colton Inn on a visit to Monterey. For me, it was important that it's located close to the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, but it's also within walking distance of lots of downtown/Old Monterey locations, including a drug store, Trader Joe's, cafes and restaurants, and the water front. Staff are always extremely helpful, I enjoy the breakfast (love that they have hard boiled eggs!), and always have a great stay here."
