"The Ace Hotel is in a great location, on a quieter street yet with many restaurants and shops and museums walking distance away, including the busy Nishiki Market. Our room was clean and spacious. The staff were very polite, helpful, attentive and welcoming!! There is a Stumptown Cafe on the ground floor which we used every morning for coffee and pastry. (There was coffee in he room as well) We did not try the restaurants in the hotel, since they were not typically Japanese and we dined in...

"We had such a great stay! The hotel was located off the main streets for shopping and within walking distance of bus stops and the subway - so convenient! We loved every aspect of the stay. A beautiful lounge area in the lobby, clean rooms, and helpful service."

The only reason I didn't rate this stay as a 5/5 is that I would have appreciated the opportunity to experience the public bath while wearing a cover/swimsuit, but they require full nudity. "

"Overall, hotel is artistically designed but overall a little dark in style. The room is fairly spacious. It’s a nice hotel but not very traveler-friendly. You have to go to the lobby for water or coffee but the ice machine is on another floor. So you have to go up and down several floors to fill your kettle or ice bucket. It was very inconvenient. "This hotel is excellent. They offer complimentary drinks (although I would prefer sweeter wine) the options are great. I like the fact that it is within walking distance from Kyoto Station so it made it very convenient for food and shops. The staffs are friendly and offered us routes and directions. A friend of ours ask where to go to find cherry blossom during non peak season and the staff delivered. We would come back to this hotel when we visit Kyoto again. "
