"Clean room, courteous staff, stored bags for us before and after check-out times. Staff were knowledgeable about the area and able to point us to the best available local locations when needed. "

"Moldy toilets, beds too soft, pillow nearly non-existent. No phone to call the desk in the room. Breakfast area looks dirty, no aircon. Remote is spoilt. Walls cracking everywhere. No noise insulation. Near to mosque and u can hear the calls early till late at night."

However, despite being a member of "Small Luxury Hotels of the World", it is not a luxury hotel: it is a decent 'heritage' hotel, but it would need a lot of detailed improvements to earn the cachet of 'luxury'. Nevertheless, it is a decent hotel and the staff are outstanding."

"Lack of room storage / hanging space / hanging hooks by sink - shower - bed firm - room was dis try and robes hadn’t been cleaned, hot water took along time to arrive 15-20 mins on day one- drains in bathroom were smelly- no decaffeinated coffee available- front seat prior to arrival was slow to respond"

"It’s a good but not great property. Clean with a nice lobby and access to lots of restaurants and shops. I would stay here again, but it’s not my first choice in George Town. My favorite thing about the hotel is that it was washing machines and dryers! "
