"Overpriced "

"We stayed five nights at this lovely hotel. Our lake view room was large and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Including a small fridge with bottled water replaced each day. Comfortable bed and great linen. Two comfortable chairs and a table in front of the window made it a great place to relax for a while with a cup of tea. The staff were friendly and efficient. Always a welcome when we returned from a day out. We had one evening meal in the restaurant and two in Ruskins and the food was tasty and well prepared. Also had lunch in the conservatory one day, a good sharing ploughman’s. Breakfast was really good, with lots of choice and hot dishes freshly prepared. We didn’t get to use the spa but it looked very good. So convenient for the lake cruises, it was lovely to be able to have a day out without the car exploring the lake and towns. Great setting for visiting the Predator Centre, we had seen about it on the hotel website and booked a walking with wolves experience. Also just down the road from Beatrix Potters house. "

"Stayed at Whitewater Hotel & Spa recently and wanted to share an honest review. Hotel & Location: Lovely riverside setting, peaceful and scenic. Staff: Reception were friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff were polite but seemed inexperienced at times (issues with card machine and menu knowledge). Spa reception was great, especially with kids — a nice touch giving them dive toys. Rooms: Family room was spacious but quite dated, with visible wear and water stains. Bathroom also needs updating. Lack of plug sockets near beds was inconvenient. Dining (Dinner): Some confusion with menus and missing items (no cider, wine unavailable). Not initially offered a kids’ menu. Starters (flatbread, halloumi) were good. Mains were mixed — steak overcooked, kids’ burger too charred, nuggets greasy. Chips were good. Desserts were decent. Service was slow with long waits, and paying was awkward due to only one card machine. Breakfast: Selection was decent but items weren’t topped up quickly, leading to waits. Scrambled eggs were very runny, bacon didn’t look appetising. Overall felt disorganised. Spa & Pool: Spacious and enjoyable, though the pool felt quite cold initially. Overall: Great location and some lovely staff, but let down by dated rooms and inconsistent, unorganised dining experience."

"I’ve just returned from a night at the hotel. I stayed in a junior suite. I had to speak to the cleaner to give us some toiletries, as he’d forgotten to put them in. The room wasn’t the cleanest either. Very dirty windows amongst other things. The room was spacious. However, the bathroom was very small and dated. I had a horrid sleep. Despite the bed being a cracking size. The mattress was awful. I woke up in the morning with a really sore back. The mattress was ultra soft and overused. I pretty much slept in a ‘V’ position all night Despite the lovely view, you couldn’t see it from the sofa in the room. Even though the sofa was in front of the window. The poor design meant you looked at a thick wooden balcony post. The spa was visually nice. The hot tub was more like a luke warm tub. The pool was freezing. Breakfast was soso. I would describe the English break ingredients as cheap and the continental breakfast as limited and cheap. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend this hotel."

"Very clean room and lovely friendly staff. Food was hit or miss, lovely mushroom starter then the special lasagne was dry, and bland. Breakfast was diy. Not a great range of options. "

"Super friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Incredibly dog-friendly including a 'dog welcome pack' and special 'exterior rooms' so you didn't disturb other guests when taking your dog in and out. Delicious food too."

"Great views from the hotel over Morecambe Bay. Parking if you travel by car . Electric charging available too at the hotel . Grange railway station is a short walk across the road . Unique hotel with friendly, helpful staff. We didn't dine at breakfast, therefore can't comment on breakfast menu . "

"Jacuzzi bath in room not working which was disappointing. Hotel is tired and needs updating. Breakfast was lovely."
