Hotels in La Isla, Cancun

"As frequent travelers to 5-star, adults-only resorts in Mexico, this was our first time trying Secrets, and as Hyatt members, we had high expectations. We booked just one night to test the property before moving to another resort, but even that was enough to be disappointed. The lobby and room initially looked modern and clean, but the room lacked basic functionality. The hair dryer didn’t work, there were no proper hand towel hooks, and there were very limited outlets or USB ports near the beds. The shower was large but poorly designed, with weak pressure and inconsistent temperature. We were also not provided a luggage rack, and there was no follow-up after requesting one. Food and service were the most disappointing. Poolside drinks were watered down, and the fish tacos were overly salty and flavorless. Dinner at the steakhouse was worse—both steaks were overcooked, chewy, and lacked flavor. The server never checked on us or acknowledged that we left most of our meals untouched. The buffet for breakfast and lunch was average with limited variety. Overall, this felt more like a 3–4 star experience, not a 5-star resort. Unfortunately, we would not return, and this experience makes us hesitant to try other Secrets locations."

"This property is amazing, staff, the food, excellent selection of food including for vegans. Also the cleanliness, the service and attention to detail. This resort is the perfect size for my adult family (ages 24-60). The three pools and excellent beach are a great amenity. Lively entertainment throughout the day and night."

"We come here year after year and it's always a "Perfect 10". The food is amazing, the facility is amazing, but most of all and our favorite part is, "The Staff", they are like family. We truly have a great friendship and relationship with them all. When we visit, it's like our second home away."

"The cleaning crew, the restaurant crew, the bar crew were great but the front desk staff the crew at the entrance and at the lobby they make you feel disconnected at all times if they see a white or black people they even welcome them with a glass of champagne but if they see you Mexican they are totally un respectful and make you feel unwelcome. I stayed at Riu Lupita before and they are amazing on every aspect!!"

"Would give this 5 starts but had to do 4 due to being placed in a room that was out dated, inoperable AC m, dirty throw pillows, dirty chair, etc. hotel lobby staff upgraded the room to an ocean front the same day. Staff was accommodating, food was surprisingly good as well as drinks. No complaints other than the first room."
