"If you want to experience traditional ryokan with fabulous meals, this is the place for you. It is a bit dated like visiting your relative’s house in the small town. It’s surrounded by maple forest, like living in a nice cabin. This is not modern hotel, if you set your expectation right, you will not be disappointed. All the stuffs are so kind and warm. They are great people dedicated to their jobs and it makes me want to visit Kyoto again."

The beds are clean and comfortable, the common area is a great place to relax and meet people, and the facilities (both east and west) are aesthetic with lots of accommodation. "Vacker utsikt från rummet. Nära templet, kort promenad från stationen och butiker. Bra AC samt luftrenare på rummen. Stilen på rummen var traditionell, aningens slitet, men med charm. Behagliga täcken och bäddplatser. Fint onsen med torrbastu."
