"Great place"

"Stayed here a few nights after arriving from the US before moving on to other areas in the Lakes. Excellent location in the heart of Kendal convenient to restaurants and shops. Enjoyed a nice hike right from our door along the river and up to the castle."

"Not very clean in the room and toilet,curtains was hanging off the runner's. There are 2 main roads each side of the hotel and it was very noisy.when booking they did say they didn't have a car park,but it was ok to use the hotel across the road,there isn't an hotel across the road.the only parking was a cricket club 500mtrs plus down the Rd to park at"

"The room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Several coffee shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance."

"There were an INSANE amount of communications, but they were unable to articulate exactly where this place was located, including not including the room number, which made it extremely difficult to find, and that there are an INSANE amount of steep stairs. Disappointing. Definitely not worth the money."

This is in contrast to a number of occasions where I have experienced disappointment when staying at other hotels. "House is clean and tidy. The kitchen has everything we need. Water pressure and temperature in all bathroom are perfect. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The heater in ground floor got very loud noise after few hours central heating been turn on. Need to turn up the heating,(e.g. from 0 to 2, from 2 to 3)to stop the noise. There were high pitch "beeps" from ground floor which woke everyone in house at 3am and 3:30am on the first night. Sounds like the smoke detector but we were not sure. However,...

"Property appears to have been recently made over, everything is new and fresh, extremely clean and although on the small side the rooms are perfect for overnight stays, comfortable bed and with more than enough tea/coffee supplies unlike a lot of places. The continental breakfast was excellent quality and plentiful. We could not fault the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall excellent value for money and we will definitely go back"
