Cross Hotel Kyoto
5/5 Excellent
"This was the best hotel we stayed at in Japan and the most affordable. The rooms look brand new and the bathrooms are amazing. Our room on the second floor was also incredibly quiet. I took the advice of others and upgraded to a deluxe corner twin and I am glad I did because it was very spacious. I have learned in Japan that you get what you pay for so if you opt for the cheapest room it might be quite small. It is better to pay more and get more space/nicer accommodations. Keep in mind though that if you are on lower floors there is a privacy film on the windows. The concierge (S. Horio) was very helpful during our stay and helped us plan everything from sightseeing to calling a taxi that could fit all our luggage. The breakfast area was very nice with high tables that we prefer. This hotel is also extremely well located with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Also I had no problem using Expedia on this trip — I did so because most hotel websites were difficult to navigate but Expedia made it quite easy."
