"Hotel is rather tired, chairs in bedroom were all uncomfortable but it was lovely & quiet Breakfast nothing special & overall it was very expensive for what it was, wouldn’t return "

"Room was clean but dated and could do with a refresh. Evening meal was excellent, I had the steak & Malbec pie and it is one of the best pies I have ever eaten. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss, there were two of us and one wanted black pudding and one didn’t but neither got any, nor did we get the fried bread, there were only two juices available, orange and apple (I think) but the orange juice ran out and not replenished although there were staff around. You could have tea or coffee by request but only one latte or cappuccino, there were no cereals, fruit or danish etc which you would expect from a hotel chain such as this (Marstons). However the staff, especially at dinner, were absolutely fantastic, always on hand to help and not too overbearing with the usual ‘is your meal ok’ type scenario. They are a credit to the company. The reason for the 3 stars is the room needing updating and the breakfast."

"The parking was very limited, first come first served basis Think there was about 14 spaces. The hotel was lovely and clean with nice decor, but most of all the staff were absolutely amazing, very friendly and helpful, especially reception and restaurant staff, couldnt fault them at all ."

"Rooms were very clean and they were always well stocked with plenty coffee, tea hot chocolate and fresh milk. Breakfast was amazing with good choice of cereals with all hot food freshly cooked. Free home made cakes were also available later in the day, which was a nice touch."

"Lovely hotel in good location. Room spacious and very clean with nice view. Staff pleasant and helpful. Booked in for dinner at 7:30. Didn’t order a starter, main courses took 1 hr to come and then 2 out of 3 sent back as they were lukewarm. No hot water for a shower in the evening or in the morning as we were told the boiler can’t cope with everyone wanting a shower at the same time."
