Tim and Ginny’s communication was excellent, and they were even kind enough to provide a travel cot last minute as we had ordered one ourselves that we didn’t think would come in time (although it did in the end). The thoughtful touches included an assortment of teas and coffees (including decaf), regular and oat milk, plus biscuits right in our room, made it feel extra special. "The staff were lovely. The room had some issues. The lighting was poor especially the communal corridor. Couldnt see to insert the door key. No facial tissues. The dressing table was unstable and wobbled. Breakfast was excellent, dinner not so. My main portion was paltry. A discount of £2.40 was offered as compensation, not enough. "This is such a delightful country pub. We loved everything about it - the location in a pretty and peaceful village, the decor, the ambiance, the quality of the food, our comfortable and cosy room and the friendly and welcoming staff. It would rate as one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed. We were in the smallest bedroom, which was quite compact but decorated so beautifully and had everything we needed. "It was a nice pub originally built in the 1600s. Free parking and they are working on upgrades to the rooms. Our room had been done, but the cleaner had missed a couple of small things (previously opened sparkling water). But the staff was very accommodating and even booked us a table for supper, just in case we decided to have it there. Great service!!"
