"APA Hotel Kyoto Ekihigashi was one of the best hotel we have stayed in. All of the staff is friendly organized and try very hard to be as helpful as possible. The breakfast was great, a wide variety of different foods for every culture. The had a big public bath one for men and one for women. A great experience. Refrigerator in the room use of microwave and you can do your only laundry. The big kicker it is 10 minutes away from Kyoto station and alt of delicious restaurants. "

The location IS excellent, it is essentially right in the middle of Gion with several major attractions nearby such as Yasaka shrine (literally the next block over) and Pontocho alley. My best stay so far in Japan!"

"I arrived at Kyoto Station at 6am, so I walked to the hotel. It took only 3-4 minutes from the station. The person (young lady) at front desk was not that friendly but was professional. They kindly hold my luggage until the check-in time. The room was compact but well designed, so the room size was good enough for one person. If you are traveling from overseas, you may feel it would be smaller, but I think that's a normal size for this type of hotel. The breakfast has a variety, and I enjoyed...
