Really enjoyed our 3 night stay here, high in the mountains. Staff were lovely, beds hard, room was clean air con was good. The property needs some restoration a little run down but overall still enjoyed our time there.

Staying at Anahata was one of the best experiences I've had. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, the room was clean and well taken care of and any requests we had were fulfilled expeditiously. Truly an amazing spot, and it's a very beautiful location to reside at.

I stayed at the Sheraton Resort in Kuta Beach prior to this but this hotel has been much more impressive! Everything is amazing here and there is nothing to complain about. I have been surprised with literally everything: welcome drink, the size and quality of my room, quality of the soap, quality of the food, size of the property, friendliness of staff, cleanliness, environmentally friendly paper paper packaging of toiletries, maintenance of the outdoor areas under a jungle canopy... the list goes on and on. Have fun exploring the property, waking down the stairs to the public pool (if you don’t have your own private one!), continuing further down to the private river access, crossing the river to view the waterfall... staff have been awesome, you can tel they all have great attention to detail. I love this place and booked a second night! It’s secluded enough to make you feel alone in the jungle, yet really only a short scooter ride to the main attractions of the area. Great location!

It was good, but not enough to come back
The place was outside the hustle and bustle but was way too far for my liking. Place did offer lift service into town but was very limited till 5:30 PM as a last server is a no go zone. Another downside was the gym was under maintenance the whole time we were there this was the main reason we booked Anahata and to see this was the case was a major bummer. Place had its own share of bugs but that’s what you get when you are in Ubud so love that :)! Bed was very comfortable and everyone was helpful when you need them to.

We stayed here for 3 nights during our visit on Bali. We were so surprised with the property as it’s much more beautiful than the photos show. We booked a villa with a pool and absolutely adored the view from our room. The hotel facilities and staff are formidable. We also ordered room service for dinner one night and were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of food: delicious, fresh and presented beautifully. Strongly recommend this place for anyone who wants a romantic stay in beautiful Ubud.

Nice place :)
Having a room with a private pool is great and the views are amazing. There are a lot of steps though so definitely wouldn’t recommend for older people or probably people with children. The resort itself was good- staff were friendly and breakfast was good. It’s about a 20 minute drive to Ubud central and is a very secluded location.

Amazing! We loved this hotel. Our villa was gorgeous and we had a lovely view into the jungle (we even got woken up by monkeys one morning). All the staff were very friendly and the restaurant food was lovely. Only slight thing is that it isn’t in walking distance of much. Didn’t affect us too much as we had things booked but something to think about. Overall brilliant and would definitely come back.

The hotel is in a lovely rural location out in the rice paddies overlooking the jungle terrain, but is 10-15min drive into Ubud , so if youre looking to be in amongst it, this might not be for you. Pros: pretty setting and rooms are clean and large with good Aircon. Great restaurant and lovely staff. Cons: far out of town, jacuzzi wasn't working, had power cuts and the sinks took a long time to drain. It says there is fitness centre...there is not. There is a tiny room with a treadmill, bike and multigym....all of which are broken. Overall a pleasant stay, but needs a bit of work to make it a truly fantastic place.

Views were amazing and the staff were friendly and super nice. Lots of negatives, at first glance the looks 4 star, but look closer and its 2 star. We had a 3 bed villa. Negatives for the 3 room villa. On three floors connected by a spiral staircase. Master bedroom is on top floor and remaining bedrooms on lower floor. Not ideal if you have young children so far away from you, plus spiral staircase a nightmare to go up and down. Aircon in lounge wouldn't switch off. Peeling paint on virtually all the walls, needs massive redecoration. Smelled damp, fridge smelled awful, kettle took ages to boil. Towels look old and grey. There was a bird nested in the master bedroom somewhere in the huge wooden ceiling, everyday it would poop on the tiled floor. The shower has a lightbulb 10cm above it, very dangerous. It rained heavily and at times there was a small drip onto one side of bed, however this didn't matter as my wife was sleeping on the bottom floor close to the children, (see earlier comment). Positives, super view from rooms. Has cutlery, microwave in small kitchen. 15 minute drive from Ubud centre, there is nothing nearby. Inconvenient shuttles times, which are done to make you get taxis, or eat at the hotel. Shuttle times out 10am, 12pm, 3pm, pick up times 12.30, 3.30, 5.30, simply awful. When we mentioned this, usual Bali response of a smile and reiterate the shuttle times. You can easily spend $50 AU on taxis if you were to go out twice on your terms in a separate taxi.

Anahata was just what we had hoped...peaceful, exotic and relaxing. We prefer to be out of the hustle and bustle and surrounded by nature, which this definitely was. Only a 10 min shutttle ride into the city of Ubud so best of both worlds. Staff were exceptional in all ways. Great buffet breakfast and good selection of food from the menu if you decide to eat at the resort. Spa treatments were also wonderful. Lots of steps everywhere so need to be fit and no problem with your knees. We enjoyed walking to the river every day for fitness. Overall, loved our stay in Anahata!

From all the hotels that we've stayed at, this was definitely the best hotel. It's only 10 minutes scooter drive from town, which isn't bad at all, but rather very fun. The food is amazing and the service excellent. The rooms are very clean and they clean the rooms daily. This is definitely the best hotel to stay at in Ubud.

Hotel with an amazing view! We encountered monkeys on our first day (adorable!). The staff was so pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms are clean and beautiful! A/C unit is in the room thank goodness :) The breakfast the delicious! They changed it up a bit every morning. We had dinner there every night as well and the food is homemade and so good! I looked forward to every meal at Anahata. Hotel is 2 miles (3km) away from downtown Ubud. We took the shuttle down and got picked up. It was perfect for getting away from the hussle and bussle of the city. Sometimes it wasn’t so quiet and peaceful that we felt we were alone in the hotel! The pool I gorgeous!

Beautiful tropical jungle resort
Anahata was a breath of fresh air, located in the deep jungle of Bali, hotel is weathered but that is expected in such a humid climate as Ubud. Only one thing beware of the monkeys! Overall great experience.

This hotel is all about the stunning view and it sure has that. The three storey villas had lots of stairs. Lots of stairs to get to villa (with luggage). The worst thing was the lack of cleanliness of villas. Im sure theres dirt and grime you cant see but this dirt was so visible. Dirty light switches, dirty doiles...just dirty and old. Our door even had a massive hole in it!! Not a lot of privacy either...window dressings were in need in some areas as people walking by can look straight in to the villa. Had to catch a cab everytime we wanted to go to ubud city as its at least a ten minute plus drive. Hotel offers free shuttle at particular times or its cabs.

After traveling most the day to get to Anahatta, was told our room is not available which we booked via Expedia. No one tried to notify us and wasted half a day. They did transfer us to a different hotel which was further out and no where near as nice. So we backed our bags and left. Very disappointed.

Nice quiet jungle experience.
This hotel was great. Not for the elderly or anyone with disabilities. Lots of stairs and property on a hill. We loved the whole feel of the Resort. We had a one bedroom villa with pool and the room was faultless. Staff were friendly and the Asian cuisine beautiful. The resort is a bit out of Ubud so you need a scooter or hotel shuttle to move around. If you are looking at a jungle escape then this is it.

Great location but no cleanliness..
We were only there for a night oh god it was a nightmare first room they gave us toilet not flushing they came to fix couldn't fix so after so many requests they changed our room... In that room we had bugs couldn't sleep we were itching all night and smelly couch terrible food not a lot of choices breakfast was ok The good things are the location, landscape and stairs to the river that's it ...

Fabulous retreat with the jungle on your doorstep
Such a pleasure to be greeted and welcomed by friendly and helpful staff. A wide variety of treats at the breakfast buffet to meet anyone's tastes. The most outstanding of all was opening my balcony door to the sounds of birdlife, the jungle greens, and the rush of the river below. Fabulous!

Secret spot in the middle of the jungle
This place is amazing. I never wanted to leave. Private pool, great views, clean, decent breakfast, quite, and I still felt like I was in Bali. Cons. Every evening we had to take cab back because the last shuttle was at 5:30pm but it was ok. Kitchen had a stove water machine but it never worked. The place was so big it looked like they just put it there to fill space.

Tropical paradise!
This is a totally awesome hotel. We stayed here for 4 nights at the start of our Honeymoon and, as my husband put it, it really is like the set of Indiana Jones! The walls are all moss-covered (but not horrid) and made of beautifully carved stone. The rooms themselves a huge and have views into the canopy of the rain forest. Our shower was great as it had a glass wall they looked over the room and onto the rain forest too. The pool was really big and very quiet, despite it being high season. For ease, we chose to eat in the restaurant on the first night and the food was lovely. Breakfast was basic, but you could get all the basics - eggs, toast, pastries, fruit. They also offer free afternoon tea at around 4pm. There was nothing in the surrounding area and it's a 15-20 minute drive into Ubud centre, but that's exactly what we wanted. You are surrounded by rice paddies and rain forest! We hired scooters from the hotel for 75,000 (cheaper in Ubud centre, around 50,000, but simpler from the hotel) and had a great time! We went to the temple, about 30 mins ride away and enjoyed the freedom of going to and from Ubud on our own timescale. They do offer a free shuttle bus at 10am, midday at 3pm, but the last pick up from town is 5:30pm so not great if you want to go out for dinner. Staff were really helpful and we got a 15-minutes welcome massage, which was amazing! Had we stayed longer I would have had a full one. Make sure you take a walk down to river (proper steps all the way)

the resort and villas were fantastic and the views were spectacular from the balcony and upper floors. If your up early enough you can watch the monkeys playing in the trees literally meters away. The food and the service was spot on but the menu is limited. The only thing I found disappointing is that the location on the hotels.com map was completely different to where the hotel was located so we had to change our travel plans as we actually wanted to stay in the centre of Ubud

If you are looking for a serene peaceful hotel, this is the place to be. its a bit far from central ubud but if you have own transportation it's ok:) we rent a motobike and it was really fun :) staff are all nice helpful and friendly :)

Beautiful rural Ubud
Gorgeous authentic Balinese / Ubud experience at Anahata Villas. Set on a hillside overlooking the jungle with a river and small waterfall at the bottom, only 12 mins drive to Ubud town. Lovely staff. Some small shortfalls in the upkeep of the hotel facilities but nothing to spoil your enjoyment overall. Do as little or as much as you like.

Total tranquility around the resort grounds
Just the relaxation we were looking for getting in touch with the beautiful natural surrounding. When needing the hype of town, the shuttle service provided. Exploring the grounds certainly kept the fitness up as mighty steps were the only way to explore, therefore not recommending it to the elderly. Infinity pool was beautiful too. All round we had a magnificent time.

Hotel with a stunning vista
Anahata is situated in a beautiful setting with fabulous scenery and a peaceful outlook. However being so isolated more shuttle buses should be offered to Ubud during the dayand evening. To charge hotel guests such an exhorbant rate to drive them to a local warung is not a redeeming feature of this hotel. I think guest supporting local business's should be encouraged and one that Anahata should embrace. Also as swimming pools are part of the facilities a clothes rack to put your wet bathers on should be supplied for each room.
