"I stayed at Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort from April 11–16, and overall, the experience was mixed. The resort itself is very large and beautifully decorated, but it could really benefit from clearer maps and better signage—getting around wasn’t always easy. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. Many staff members, especially at check-in and the front desk, were not very friendly or helpful, and it felt like additional training is needed in those areas. There were also some issues with the room. I encountered two roaches—one in the room and one in the closet. While I understand that insects can be common in the Caribbean, I didn’t expect to find them inside the room. When I reported it, the response was disappointing, as I was simply told housekeeping could come again, with no real resolution offered. That said, a few standout employees completely turned things around for me. Domingo and Claribel at the adults-only pool bar were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Felix at the late-night restaurant, The Valley, was also fantastic. Without these three individuals, my experience would have been significantly worse. In short, while the resort looks great, service and guest support need improvement and the rules around the adults only pool need to be revisted. Out of the days I was there there was only entertainment at the pool one day. The staff members mentioned above were the highlight of the stay and made a big difference."

"Clean rooms, grounds are beautiful. Food is just okay. Drinks are very good. Pool and beach area absolutely stunning. However no direct drink/food service at the beach. Buffet food is basic. Only good restaurants are the steakhouse and Japanese. Must make restaurant reservations the night before. "

"Overall, it was nice. The beach was beautiful, the grounds were lovely, but the food was average and the drinks were overly sugary. Take this with a grain of salt—it was my first all-inclusive. I expected more to actually be included. Some extras felt unreasonable: $5 USD for a coconut, and $50 USD/day for beachfront daybeds that mostly sit empty while everyone else stares at the back of them. Poor design—either include them or integrate them better. We were supposed to have a concierge via WhatsApp, which never happened. We also had “Level” wristbands through Expedia—fine if included, but not worth paying extra. It mostly gave access to one additional restaurant and a spa circuit (hot tub, sauna, steam room). The “upgraded” room wasn’t better, and there was no enhanced concierge. The voucher system was confusing and poorly explained. At checkout, staff refused to honor a voucher despite clear terms—only resolved after escalating to a manager. Not a great final impression. Dinner reservations were messy (2/5 nights had conflicting info), and with no concierge support, we had to sort it out ourselves. Service overall was slow and inconsistent. Skip the Asian restaurant—everything tastes the same. Would I go back? Maybe. Would I look for something better? Definitely. "

"This was truly an amazing vacation. The resort is exquisite, the staff are so friendly and accommodating, & our room was beautiful and very clean. Fernando Reyes was wonderful and efficient and so responsive to all of our needs. Willy Charles at the beach was also exceptional, in service and attitude. All in all we had an awesome time thanks to the amazing staff. Will definitely recommend this all inclusive resort to our friends and family!!"

"My stay at Barceló Bávaro Beach – Adults Only All-Inclusive Resort was an exceptional experience from start to finish. What stood out immediately was the genuine warmth of the staff—their smiles, friendliness, and professionalism truly made me feel welcome throughout my entire stay. The beach is absolutely unforgettable: pristine, well-maintained, and with a strong sense of security that allows you to fully relax and enjoy the surroundings. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. One of the highlights was the incredible variety of food options. The buffet restaurants, including Caribe, La Brisa, and Santa Fe, offered an impressive selection with something for every taste, and the quality was consistently excellent. I also appreciated how convenient everything was. With lounge bars, pool bars, theater bars, sports bars, lobby bars, and coffee spots all located throughout the resort, there was always a great place nearby to relax, grab a drink, or socialize. Overall, this resort delivers a well-rounded, enjoyable experience that I would highly recommend. It’s truly a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable adults-only getaway."

"This was the worst experience. I will not ever book through Expedia again or recommend this resort. The resort never had our reservation after booking through Expedia the resort said they could “up grade” us for our inconvenience, they actually double charged me. They told me the entire stay would be $1200, 30mins later they came and told me they needed to run my card again for the Expedia amount of $1900. They told me this my confusion. I tried to work this out with Expedia to dispute the $1200 charge but they refused to help. The resort was out of running water for half the day, the staff was rude, we were only allowed to book two reservations for dinner (even after our upgrade) and were told we had to eat at the buffet the remainder of the time. Our charger that was plugged into the wall and melted, we were smelling burnt wires well it our phone charger. Also you get hassled on the beach daily to buy things. I did use my Apple Pay and they gave themselves $60 tip. The best part about the trip was the company because all we could do was laugh at everything. Do not go to this resort "
