1.We have two rooms, both bathrooms have the same type of sliding bathroom door that kept slides open by itself. Staff said just stuck a towel to prevent it from opening. Bathroom door is not lockable. 2. Light in the bathroom is on timer. It auto shut off the lights and ventilation after like 30mins. It was a rude shock to get a blackout bathroom halfway through your bath. 3. Room door is open outwards type and cannot be secure from inside. (No additional latch). On the first day morning housekeeping staff just opened my door while I am still in the bathroom. And again someone tapped their key trying to open my room the next early morning. Felt so insecure as you can’t secure your room door properly when you’re in the room. 4. No staff around in the hotel. Everything is through machine for check in and check out. (Although you only see one of the staff once during check in). Calls went unanswered. We have to go to the reception area to get help for a clog toilet bowl. 5. About 30mins before check out time, got a reminder call to check out, followed by a staff/bouncer standing outside your room door to escort and made sure you leave the premises in time and hand over your rooms in time!

Was a little worried about the slope situation many have mentioned in their reviews when I was considering this hotel, but in reality, it is really not that bad (may still be a challenge for elderly and someone with mobility issues). Great location. Easy walk to Namdaemun Market and lots of eateries. Close to Namsan Park/Tower (we didn't have time to visit ourselves). Close to buses and subways. Room could have used a little more dusting. Overall room was sufficient. It seems pretty common among the bathrooms in accommodations to not have curtain/door to separate shower area, this the whole bathroom would get wet. This is not an issue at Lumia as the shower has a door and is decent size, one of the reasons we have picked Lumia over a few other options we had in mind. Would have been nice that instructions for the washer/dryer are posted by the machines as we had a hard time figuring out the buttons and dials, all labelled in Korean. But, staff was helpful when we asked for assistance.

Got there hours before check-in and luggage was able to be stored and they have a bathroom in the lobby. Hotel owner was very sweet and helped us make our late night ramen and gave us some tips to cut our Dalgona cookies (really kind!). The space was everything we needed and we had a view of N tower from our room. Power and A/C are operated by room key so dont operate when you’ve left for the day. Overall, we would stay again and were sad to leave.

So if you’re new to the neighborhood, you might feel our main road is dark and uncomfortable. But it’s a safe street due to the 24 hour police patrol activities. Amazing hotel, close to hoehyeon station exit 1, have to walk a bit uphill but its fine, near to a halal kebab stall near nandaemun market, allowed us to keep our bags till evening, fast check in and check out, great staffs, good choices of bfast, can see seoul tower from our rm, strong wifi, staff can speak fluent english, will be good if there was a bidet in the room. But all in all we enjoyed our stay. Thank u!!:)

This hotel is great. The buffet breakfast was almost the same everyday, but it was still good. Can’t really complain. The price was just right for the amenities and the location was perfect. It was close to restaurants and easy access to transportation. Will definitely book this hotel again.

Breakfast is disappointed, The display on website is totally difference. By using go green reason not supplying cup, provide only paper cup in the room and for breakfast to me is a terrible idea. If want to go green, less waste is what they should target.

Solid hotel in great location
Easy walk from Seoul Station which was easy easy AREX ride in from airport so great location for us. Breakfast was more than a continental-type breakfast. The hotel was clean and modern. Staff was very nice even though we spoke no Korean.

Comfortable and clean hotel
We had a great experience at Lumia Hotel, room was not that big but met our needs, everything was near by the hotel, first three nights were really hot, but they adjusted the heater and it was fine after that, there is a hill to get to the hotel, so be ready for that extra exercise, overall our experience was really good, we would definitely come back

perfect spot for Foreign
I absolutely love this hotel and it was the right place to stay over. They have workers that can speak English and very helpful on the information you need to know. The room was in great condition and was surprised to see the floor was warm. I thought the bed comfort was ok but I like the big tv. Their breakfast was so delicious! I’m so glad to have kimchi everyday and soft scrambled egg. Yes I see some other variety of food everyday for 5 nights. The juice was so fresh. I like all the safety they offer in the room. Example fire extinguisher and strap to jump out for emergency. I do appreciate they offer free new water bottle everyday but only you take some. This is the MUST place to stay for foreign tourist to come. Thanks you for everything Lumia Hotel!

Nice place . Clean and convenient.
Overall the stay is nice . We are upgraded to a family room Room was slightly bigger with extra bed . Road to the hotel was a bit steep.When you have a tired day , the road will be harder to climb . Breakfast has the same menu everyday day . Only the type of sausages changes / soup ( either porridge or mushroom soup ) maybe can change the breakfast menu once 2 days etc ..

A chic nice hotel that is very close to busiest shopping area in Seoul, yet away from the buzz. Comfortable and clean. Nice roof top garden and good simple breakfast buffet. Can see Namsan Tower.

Did not feel like a "budget" hotel at all! While it IS up on a hill so the walk up to the hotel with heavy luggage or after a long day of walking is tiresome, but it's a small price to pay to the excellent location, affordable price and hotel condition. It's 5 minutes from the nearest train station and 10-15 minute walk from 2 shopping markets. It was easy to go back for an hour to rest before going off to the next destination. Bathroom comes equipped with body wash, shampoo and condition (just bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste) with the shower area separated by a wall unlike many other budget hotels we saw with the showerhead right above the sink. They do have a taxi ride you can reserve from the hotel straight to the airport for about 70USD. a bit pricey but you are paying for the convenience and comfort of not having to lug your heavy bags around the trains or having to stay awake on a bus to make sure you don't miss your stop. The free breakfast is a great plus as well. Would recommend to anyone traveling on budget but would still like the privacy of their own room.

Location of this hotel is perfect. It is near subway station and restaurants. Quiet neighbourhood. Hotel service is just okay because toiletries were not complete. they just provided the basics - towels, shampoos, conditioners, soaps. No lotion, toothpaste and toothbrush, shower caps, shavers, etc I will give their roof deck a thumbs up. Great view of the Namsan tower even from our rooms. Breakfast food is all right.

Cheap hotel but you pay for what you get.
The bed was comfortable and the hotel is in a good location. However, our room was too hot and we could not change the room temperature as there was no controller. The receptionist told us we can not change room heating and our friends in another room told us the same thing that their room was very hot from over heating temperature. We had to open the window to let in some cold air in December cold weather to cool down the room. Bathroom was all wet after you shower as the water would be running outside all over the bathroom floor. One of the receptionist was not very helpful. We had good help from another receptionist but she didn’t speak much English either, lucky we could speak a bit of Chinese to communicate with her. Our toilet was blocked and we had been advised not to put toilet paper in the toilet.

Better than expected
As expected, the room was pretty small, but it served its purpose. Breakfast was beter than expected. I thought it would be continental style, but egg, sausage and french fries were served. Going up the hill from the train station was a bit difficult, but overall it was fine

Lumia Hotel Myeongdong is a great place to stay. From Incheon International Airport to this hotel only takes 1 1/2 hours by bus or metro. Just 2 mins walk to Hoehyeon Station. The location near to Namdaemun Tradional Market, 7-Eleven store. Abourt 15- 20 minutes walk to Myeong-dong. This hotel offers Free WiFii and Breakfast Buffet. The front desk are very polite. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Very convenient for tourist especially for transit passengers. My suggestion please leave your check in luggage at the airport for free, as long your transit is less than 24 hours it is allowed. Seoul, South Korea is a safe place. We stayed here Aug 14-15, 2018.

wonderful...we will come back & would recommend
wonderful although we recomended some pointers for improvement. Reception officers were all accomodating and with a ready smile. We highly appreciated accomodating us although it was not check_in time yet because we came in early. That was great customer service...Daily Buffet breakfast we loved it. location is great.

Small updated hotel in good location
Small hotel in convenient location. Staff very friendly, rooms very clean and up to date. Only down side the rooms size is to small. Not much room around bed and very little room for luggage..

Old and outdated furnitures. Cigarette burnt hole on sofa. Bathroom sink has no vanity area. Dirty floor. TV not working and called three times to fix but nothing happen and finally gave up. Breakfast was ok with limited quantity so eat early.

I totally recommend this place is close to most of the market area and to the train station. you have restaurants, 7eleven and other store near the hotel. I have good time to stay at this hotel. breakfast was super good you have everyday something different. 100%
