"Check-in was at 3p. We arrived at around 3:40p with our 2 toddlers and we were told the room was not ready. We waited in the lobby until around 4:25 when it was finally ready. We had done our sight-seeing so it was an inconvenience with hot and tired kids, same for us adults. The room had some dusty areas and a used Q-tip on the carpet. "This place is a gem along the 101! Traveling from northern CA to Santa Barbara for a graduation and stayed here 1 night before picking up family at the SB airport the next day. It sits high atop the hill with a view in all directions and, with the adorable retro vibe, feels literally removed from every day life. I just wish I could have stayed a few more nights. "The ease of check-in was nice after a long drive. The room was clean, simple, no frills and exactly what was needed for a shower and some sleep. Very quiet until the neighbor enters their room, then you realize the walls are kind of thin. Fortunately, the noise didn't last long. Bathroom was clean. Being your own toiletries as a small shower bar and a sample pack of conditioning shampoo is all that is provided. I would stay here again if I'm needing an affordable spot.
