"All perfect except no gym! Not right for sucha standing hotel"

"Lovely restored house in a neighborhood (more like a B&B). There is a bus that runs into Edinburgh proper or you can take the mile walk. The hotel gives very good recommendations for local dining. Parking can be difficult (limited on-street parking for non-residents). No eating in the rooms."

"If you would like to enjoy your Edinburgh stay surrounded by green & space, this is the place for you. 15 mins walk or 10 mins bus from the busy city center, next to the Arthur’s seat. Unfortunately my room did not have view, just walls, but if you are lucky, most of rooms should have beautiful green views. Friendly staff, good food, lovely garden terrace to enjoy beers, if it is sunny!"

"I loved my stay at the Brae. It was the perfect place to get over jet lag as I embarked on a one-month vacation of the U.K. It’s a couple of miles outside of town, and the bus to downtown stops right in front of the house, which was perfect. Very comfortable for sleeping. Having a bath tub to soak in after a day full of walking was heaven. Graeme was an extremely welcoming and informative host. Definitely recommend t He Stay at the Brae."

"Das Zimmer und Haus waren sehr sauber, der Hausherr sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist gut für Unternehmungen in Edinburgh, Parkplatz war während unseres Aufenthaltes vorhanden. Minuspunkte gebe ich weil die Matratze fpr mich zu hart war, kein normaler Kopfpolster sondern ein flaches Kissen das .Irgendwann Nackenschmerzen bescherte. Der Boden, ja ich weiß ist alt, aber knirscht bei jedem Schritt, extrem im Badezimmer und sogar in der Dusche. Das Badezimmer ist extrem klein, ich sag mal...

"Photos of this place are mainly of larger rooms. I booked a single standard room but ultimately stayed in two different rooms. The first room's bathroom was down a winding staircase from the bedroom. The room itself was very tiny. Because I have arthritis in my leg, I requested a different room. The staff deserve praise for their helpfulness and friendliness in helping me switch rooms. The second room was larger and bathroom was in the same room (the good). Unfortunately the pillows on the bed...

"The Abbey Residence has a rooming house feel. We had a spacious room with large but dated ensuite. The walls could use a lick of paint, but there were no real issues with the room. Wifi was good and our room had a good sized Roku based smart TV with lots of streaming options. Parking in central Edinburgh is hard so leave your car at the Abbey Residence and catch the bus into town from the bus stop just across the road. It’s no high end hotel, but our room was clean and comfortable with good...

"Great location, very handy for public transport and getting into central Edinburgh or Waverley station. Good price too for a room in Edinburgh in the summer. The only downside is the facilities are very basic, with the toilet and shower out in the corridor. I'd stay here again, but only for a night or two. I wouldn't recommend it for a longer holiday, unless you're actually a student and happy with student-standard accommodation."
