"The Abbey Residence has a rooming house feel. We had a spacious room with large but dated ensuite. The walls could use a lick of paint, but there were no real issues with the room. Wifi was good and our room had a good sized Roku based smart TV with lots of streaming options. Parking in central Edinburgh is hard so leave your car at the Abbey Residence and catch the bus into town from the bus stop just across the road. Minuspunkte gebe ich weil die Matratze fpr mich zu hart war, kein normaler Kopfpolster sondern ein flaches Kissen das .Irgendwann Nackenschmerzen bescherte. "Photos of this place are mainly of larger rooms. I booked a single standard room but ultimately stayed in two different rooms. The first room's bathroom was down a winding staircase from the bedroom. The room itself was very tiny. Because I have arthritis in my leg, I requested a different room. The staff deserve praise for their helpfulness and friendliness in helping me switch rooms. The second room was larger and bathroom was in the same room (the good). "Clean, modern rooms. Excellent breakfast. Very pleasant staff. No secure parking for motorcycles although the manager did try to organise a solution. We did , unfortunately pick a stay when a function was on and the noise from the guests below (around the stairwell) was loud. Some you win, some you lose!"

"This is an absolutely prime location to see Edinburgh for the first time. It’s a 3 minute walk from the drop off and pick up for the Airlink shuttle stop which is cheap and easy to get to and from the airport. Then you’re right on royal mile with quick walks to all the sights. The staff was super kind and helpful and the room was spacious and clean."

"Great location, very handy for public transport and getting into central Edinburgh or Waverley station. Good price too for a room in Edinburgh in the summer. The only downside is the facilities are very basic, with the toilet and shower out in the corridor. I'd stay here again, but only for a night or two. I wouldn't recommend it for a longer holiday, unless you're actually a student and happy with student-standard accommodation."

"Fake tan stains were in the bath from previous guest. Hot water took almost 10mins to come on. Outdoor had a few broken planters and weeds coming through the floor. Kitchen was closed for maintenance so there was no food options until breakfast the next day. I could hear people going in and out their rooms until about 2am and then starting again at 6am. I have stayed previously and was impressed but this time just felt like lack of care was given."
