We do have a reception staffed every day from 7 am until 2 pm, with dedicated reception staff from 9 until 11am. It is only in the afternoon and evening that noone is there, so our aim is to be abel to help and assist physically in the morning, whilst also give you a feeling of being 'at home away from home' ... and with our App you can reach us 24/24 anyway ! Dear Anonymous guest. We are not sure why you did not like your stay, or did not put a higher mark ... it might be the '5 rooms', or the staircase, or the fact we are indeed running a hybrid accomodation type, a mix between boutique hotel , airbnb and B&B. Although it is fairly well described on the Hotels.com page.This special cosy atmosphere making you feeling 'home away from home ' is what our clients actually like about our us. The 'hair salon', is actually not a hair salon, but a shop selling many cosmetic items, and they opened a week ago, so not really aware yet of the life surrounding them... does it really matter ? there are only 2 codes to remember, and we send a very detailed email with pictures to explain how to use them.

Dear Sir We are sorry that you had a bad experience. The reason might be that you booked at the last minute and did not have time to read the full description on Expedia. Indeed we are a small structure with only 5 rooms, that is what makes the charm of 1er Etage, hotels services, without being a real hotel. We actually called you less than 30 minutes after you send a mail to let us knowyou coudl not enter. Most guests in the same situation would have called us instead of sending a mail....and we are available 24/24. Neighborhood is the best one in Paris according to the vast majority of travellers, and always in high demand. We hope you will have an opportunity to test again our concept. Kind Regards

Dear Ian, We are glad you enjoyed our property for its comfort, decoration, great breakfast and friendly staff. As you came only for one night, you may have read the description a little too quickly. For the readers of your review, here are some answers to your comments. We are on the first floor, not the second, we are above a real estate agency. The website indicates that we have only 5 rooms, all on one floor. There is a litte sign just next to the door of the building in the street and we do send codes by email one week prior to arrival. If we have not heard from our guests, we might send them again on the day before arrival, or in your case on the day of arrival. Here are the Check instructions found on Expedia website: "Hotel Policies Special check-in instructions: The front desk is open daily until 2 PM If you are planning to arrive after 2 PM please contact the property in advance using the information on the booking confirmation. Guests will receive an email with special check-in instructions and access codes prior to their arrival. For more details, please contact the office using the information on the reservation confirmation received after booking." We sincerely hope you will try again to stay with us, and this little issue with the missing codes upon arrival will be quickly forgotten. Kind Regards

Dear Sir, Thank for your positive comments about the location , cleanliness and decoration. Our rooms are actually of good size compared to hotels in the same area withthe same price range, espcially considering that our breakfast is included in the price. Breakfast includes coffee, tea, orange juice, bred and fresh pastries, fresh fruit salad, hamand cheese, yogurt ... maybe small for an american standard, but we tend to have very good comments about it. The sheets are changedevery second day, this is the standard in 4 stars hotels in France, and of course if you ask in the morning, wecan change them every day . We had a problem with international channels because a storm in PAris hit our antenna, normally we do have a small selection ofenglish speaking channels. We do change towels every day, and provide towels in free access, so if you exceptionnally find a clean towel with old stain (which is extremely rare), it is easy to change it. Smoking is strictly forbidden in the entire property. Kind Regards

Dear Christopher We are really glad you enjoyed your stay and found our place 'fantastic'. We are sorry about the luggag left by the previous guests, they did not understand how the code system worked and thought they could be back in the afternoon to pick up their luggage (which is possible, but in the reception only!).
