"Lovely country pub,spacious clean room with lovely big bathroom,really comfortable bed.Had a lovely evening meal, the waitress was really helpful and got our order in quickly after giving us the heads up that there were a lot of large parties in that evening and ordering promptly would be beneficial,food was amazing and good value. Breakfast the next morning was a wide choice and the hosts at the property were brilliant.Would definitely stay again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others."

"The room was large and generally comfortable but smelled stale - as if it had been closed up for a while. The bed was two singles zipped together and so very uncomfortable in the middle. The shower head was so disgusting we didn't have a shower and the tiles were cracked and coming away from the wall. The towels smelled musty and the toiletbrush was awful! One of the windows in the bedroom had swollen and so couldn't be closed properly."

"Lovely and clean, we had the snug double and it was adequate, yes small but had all we needed, for a room you won’t be spending a lot of time in, breakfast was good, pastries not so good, but plenty of other food to choose from, so not a problem, private off road parking was a bonus"

"We enjoyed a fabulous overnight stay during which we utilised the hydrotherapy area. Our room was in the manor house section and was full of good character. The only issue we had was that it was very warm and I assume due to the age of this section, there was no aircon. Otherwise fab facilities and staff - would stay again!"

Forest Lodge

"The room was comfortable, a little dark, a view into the garden. The bathroom had a bath with shower but would benefit from the installation of a modern shower unit. TV and coffee/tea making facilities were available as was a complimentary bottle of still water. Evening meals are served in the bar areas, breakfast is served in the main restaurant. The menus are adequate for most diners. Plenty of parking with electric charging points. The star of the show is the indoor pool. Easy walking distance into Lyndhurst, 10 minutes at a normal walking pace. The position of the hotel is ideal for exploring the New Forest and surrounding areas with the M 27 motorway a few minutes away by car. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel could do with some cosmetic touching up in places as its age begins to show, but it provides a relaxing environment for all."

"Beautiful place. Gorgeous looking thatched buildings. Pub area and dining area was very clean and food was very good. We had bedroom number 8 - when we first walked in, very lovely. Clean towels every day and comfortable bed. Only problem was it wasn’t very clean on the window cills. There were dead flies that were not dusted and they remained there the whole time we were there. (4 nights) Also, the shower gel was not filled up, and the lid would not open, despite us leaving out the lid to show them. I know these are minor things, but apart from that, we had an excellent stay and the staff were super hosts. Will definitely recommend."
