"This was our first time staying here. We usually stay at a neighboring property. I will say this much…WE WILL BE STAYING HERE FROM NOW ON! The staff was incredible. The hotel is incredible and the amenities cleanliness, and just general smell of the hotel with its diffuser and fresh flowers was obsession worthy. The only thing that we had to complain about was the Internet being very spotty and our TV not working. When you’re on vacation, the two teas have to work the toilet and the TV. So that was our only complaint. But, they did send up staff and engineer immediately to try to help us with the situation."

"ROOMS: 2 rooms. The first room was in a hallway that smelled like cigarette smoke, and the room itself had a very musty smell. We requested a switch. The next room was across from the bus depot. It was a bit loud, but fine. Our second room was located in the building above the entrance driveway. It initially seemed alright, but it was VERY loud into the early morning hours due to people outside partying at the fire pits outside of the lobby bar. The hotel said they were having a hard time controlling the guests, and the next day, we requested a switch. The next room was fine. We found many things mentioned in other reviews - musty smell, low water pressure, loud areas, and persistent bacon smell from the breakfast buffet. This is a large hotel with many buildings, and your experience is largely affected by where your room is. We saw things that were yuck - rusty hardware in the bathrooms, stained marble vanity tops, and a dirty mini fridge that had to be at least 25 years old. BREAKFAST: Free breakfast is more extensive, including the standard eggs, meat, and pancakes, but the eggs were consistently overcooked and inedible due to their sulfur flavor (think a brick of scrambled eggs that needs to be cut to be served), and the same menu every day. If over-ripe fruit, mass-produced pastries, and cold cuts are your thing, you’ll be happy. EXTRA FEES: After booking, I received an email about a week later about extra fees not mentioned at booking. Just OK, would not stay again."

"Good location close to union square. Beautiful lobby and reception area. Attentive staff. Stayed with a family of four sharing two double beds which were both comfortable. "

"It was a nice stay. I got the breakfast included. Their American breakfast is just that: meat, eggs, potatoes, and toast. It was delicious. If you want a pastry or yougurt or fruit that's extra. Complimemtary coffee at breakfast. If they are calling the snack bar/deli that selection behind check-in, that's a little generous. There is a trolley stop by the hotel but take heed that the trolley is $9 one-way, $15 unlimited. When they say walkable, take into account the steep hills. It would have been nice to be provided more info about traveling around. I spent $30.00 using the cable car until i realized i could buy a Muni day pass for all transport & cable car for $35 & I think they have a 3-day pass. Coffee maker & safe in room are nice touches. The mini-fridge is not for food storage, it says that on it. It is just to keep things "chilled". I also found the rooms a little dark but it could be because I was facing a building."

"The hotel was conveniently located right where we wanted to be in SF. The only downside was that there is no AC in the King George hotel, only fans and our fan wasn’t on when we checked it. The room was kinda hot even though it’s only late March in SF. However, it was a great deal, especially with Cafe Mason right next door. I’ll most likely stay there again."
