Good hostel
This place was so clean! Beds were comfortable but the pillows weren’t unfortunately, that’s the only bad thing about comfort. I felt it was in a good location, quiet and not far to the trains. The lady that checked us in was so lovely & gave us lots of information of the local area & the best places to view the cherry blossoms that were blooming, I wish I Knew her name ! We loved our stay at seibido inn and would stay again with a different pillow :)

The hotel was well situated, clean and had all the comforts needed. My only comments is that I found the pillow uncomfortable and it would have been nice to have some ambient lighting for when I was reading before going to sleep.

Great clean space! Loved how spacious the room was for 5 people and the additional bathrooms downstairs. The staff are super helpful and were able to secure my late check-in. Would come again!

Nice little hotel, centrally located, a short walk to shopping and restaurants. There is a great breakfast cafe about two blocks away. These are traditional tatami mat rooms with mattresses that unfold on the floor. I really liked the traditional Japanese bedding, but some people might not. That's the only reason that I gave "room comfort" a "4" rating, rather than a "5". The staff was really wonderful. The receptionists, Kaoru and Oh, were able to understand what I was interested in and gave me good advice about things to see.

Great service in the great Kinosaki-Onsen! Free ride from the train station, and they delivered our luggage down while we wandered the town for a small fee. Overall a great stay in a traditional place.

Nice and accessible hotel
Clean, spacious hotel with helpful staff. Close to bus and subway stations (but keep in mind the closest JR station is Kyoto if you have a JR pass). There is a charge for towel rental.

highly recommended
stayed here as family of five with 3 children under 8 for 3 nights. super location a short walking distance of downtown. Very friendly, helpful staff. room had 5 futons which were comfy and an ensuite. there is a common room in which you can bring your own food to eat with microwave. close to convenience stores.

Great Hotel!
We had a great experience here. Room was large and clean. There was common kitchen and laundry facilities which made things easy travelling with two little kids. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Great experience, highly recommended.

Clean, convenient, no frills
Staff prepared to help you make the most out of your stay, including tips on sightseeing and restaurants. Prepare for no frills, as described. Tiny bathroom, but it is convenient to have one in the room. Very clean place. Futons are not very thick, so you end up piling a few. No elevator, but there is one for suitcases only. Close to buses and two subway lines. Great location for sightseeing. And you can rent bicycles on location. This place is perfect for what it is.

Convenient and reasonably priced hotel
Great staff that let us check in after arriving early in Kyoto via expressway bus from Tokyo. Room was spacious while bedding (futon) was comfortable. The room could be stuffy when using the heater so switch on the air conditioner setting tuned to the highest temperature for a more comfortable stay. Do note that there are 3 floors to this property and although there is a lift for luggage, there is NO PASSENGER LIFT, so probably not suitable for those with difficulty walking. Main shopping district in Kyoto is a 15 min walk away while metro station is about 7 minutes away. Overall recommended stay.

This was a great place to stay for a few days. The more traditional Japanese-style room was huge and with enough extra futons, I was able to sleep alright, but I admit that the floor was a bit hard without a number of futons to sleep comfortably. I can't say enough about the staff. They have fantastic english and were incredibly helpful. Also, the coin-operated laundry facility is a God-send. I cannot stress how nice it is to have access to a laundry facility every few days during a long trip in a foreign country.

room matches with description. useful space, quiet environment. next to kamo river for run n bike. also good for fine dining. bathroom is pack, but public lobby is great for reading and eating. beware of the limited front desk service hours.

comfy for a lower priced hotel
polite, helpful staff with good English . Easy to find after the first time getting there. Close to station, but not JR. cost ¥260 to get to JR station. They hire bikes at a good rate. Clean rooms and toilets with the sprayer and warm seats. Not a lot of foom to move in the toilet/bath. japanese style room. mstteresses were a little soft and sank down to the floor. We doubled thrm up. Room was clesned each dsy Nd beds folded up which was a bit of a pain to set them up each eve. My kids disappointed at no tv. Had fridge and kettle but needed to provide own coffee etc or take same from freebies in lobby. The

Service was very good! The ppl at the reception know good English There was free coffee and tea Location was also good We had futons which were really hard and was not comfortable to sleep so sleeping was bad. The sink was inside the shower which was not the best but manageable No elevator! But they had a mini elevator for the suit cases

Pleasant Stay!
The location of the hotel is very good. Hotel staff is very helpful and speak english well. The room is spacious and very clean. The complementary in the kitchen and laundry is in good condition.

Hotel very nice stayed in dorm style accomadation clean room staff very helpful noisey from other guests stayed a couple of nights if you don't plan on sleeping until after 11pm then it's ok if you go to bed before this not so need sound proofing looked at

A small, but friendly hotel.
This is a small hotel with only 19 rooms, which made it difficult, but not impossible for taxi drivers to find, despite the detailed instructions provided by the hotel in English and Japanese (my taxi drivers generally did not speak much English). The helpfulness and desire to help of the staff was tops, except for the fact that my request for my room to not be cleaned was not respected on one of the days. There were no beds and I do not find futons to be comfortable to sleep in. When my room was cleaned I needed to pull the futons out of the closet again, a minor inconvenience. My room was cold, before the cleaning, but afterwards was not cold. There was no operating thermostat that I could find. The hotel is a short walk from the Imperial Palace Park. The park is lovely, but only tours are allowed into the Palaces. The hotel is reasonably centrally located if you can master the transit system (the hotel staff is helpful). Japanese toilets are the best, but the bathroom only had a shower, not a bath.

Great hotel, great servcice
Lovely hotel, with very lovely staff. Very close to a train station and within walking distance to Gion, with plenty of restaurants, shops, temples etc. The room was immaculate, bathroom too. We had futons which were super comfortable. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly here.

シンプルなお部屋でリラックス出来ましたがテレビがないと少し寂しいかな？街中の為…場所がわかりにくく迷ってしまいました！ホテルへの問い合わせが一切出来無いので不安になりましたが着いたらめちゃくちゃホッとしました！色々な体験が出来る外国の方向けの宿泊施設ですね！交通の便はいいのでは？

Conveniently located. Very friendly and helpful staff who were very willing to advise on trips, sightseeing, transportation etc. Convenient shared kitchen facilities to have your own breakfast or make coffee or tea any time you like. The room with six futons was comfortable for our group of three adults and two children.

Très bien! Nous avons adoré cette hôtel plein de comfort. Le personnel a été à nos soins pendant tout le séjour. La chambre était très propre et spacieuse. Nous avons pu très bien nous reposer. L hôtel propose aussi des vélos en location, idéal pour visiter la ville.

Super sympa
De passage à Kyoto pour 4jours. Découvrant le Japon pour la première fois, les personnes de l'hôtel nous ont été d'une grande aide. Serviable et à l'écoute, ils ont su nous conseiller que ce soit pour les endroits où manger mais aussi les endroits à visiter.
