Just finished a 5 night stay at the Ace Hotel in Kyoto, absolutely beautiful hotel with fantastic staff all round. Front desk staff couldn’t help enough, and the breakfast….one of the best I’ve ever had in a hotel, and I’ve had too many over the years. Great location as only a 2 min walk to the nearest metro station.

The location of the hotel is very convenient. There is a train station that literally has an exit into the hotel property, if you can figure out how to find the exit when you get off the train, gold star for you!! The breakfast at the restaurant is pretty good if you’re looking for an American style breakfast and need a break from all the amazing Japanese cuisine you’ll have. There are some great shops on the property, including a Traveler’s Factory Store iykyk. I’d def stay here again! The rooms were huge for Japan.

We had a terrific trip to Kyoto with a group of friends and our stay at Ace Hotel played a big role in how enjoyable it was. The front desk staff helped me print a birthday card and Mari arranged a bottle of wine for one of our friends. So thoughtful and engaging, the staff went above and beyond. Mari also helped us book a dinner reservation at a truly memorable place. We will certainly stay at Ace if we return to Kyoto and will also look for the hotel in our future travels. Thank you!

Basic to no amenities, the lobby is always packed with coffee shop sharing the installation. Very dark rooms. Not a bad option but overvalued vs price I paid. We'll located, walking distance from multiple key sites (Nijo Castel, market, etc). The tourne disc inside the room is a funny ads on, but not a reason to pay extra price. Good option if you get a good price. Otherwise, you have much better options in town.
