Thoughtful they put signs for chicken vegetarian etc because we only eat halal food Servers during breakfast mostly seemed like they had bad days . But other hotel staff seemed friendly "

However, we were surprised that there is no private space on the beach dedicated to the clients of the Slate. We have to rent a beach chair (but hopefully, we had our beach towel from the hotel taken before going out by the gate near the beach). Two criticisms - I had to ask reception for bug spray my first night due to flying termites in the room (10+) which did solve the problem but wasn’t pleasant and housekeeping didn’t make up my room on my second day despite my ‘make up room’...
