"Bathroom was not pleasant I didn't use the shower for this reason, mouldy around the fixtures and dusty. Room smelt nice upon arrival but dust and cobwebs hanging down from the ceilings. The kids sofa bed was so hard I got another duvet for them so sleep on top of. Main bedroom was ok. Breakfast was ok nothing special, had to ask for bowls as none were out and we were first down. Parking good plenty of spaces, but when leaving around 7:30 to pop to the petrol station a pair of men's worn boxers were laid in the car park. Swimming was the main reason we booked for the children. Wouldn't stay again unfortunately. Hotel is tired worn and in dire need of a make over. "

"Well priced functional place to stay which felt safe and the bed was comfortable. Really kind lass on the reception Chris was very helpful and pleasant after a long haul to the hotel. Pleasant setting though it was dark when I arrived so didn't really get chance to visit. If you just need a reasonable place to hop when you are in the area it's ideal. I was heading to Warrington and it was really easy from there, likewise Haydock, Liverpool, St Helens etc."

"Bathroom could do with some money spent to fix the broken tiles on the floor and give it some good cleaning in the shower area. Shower was adequate itself. Bed was comfortable and pillows were not hard so we slept well. Breakfast was buffet style help yourself with unlimited coffee and tea. For a budget room 223 it was as expected For what we paid "

"Parking was wonderful but breakfast changed from 09.00 to 11.00 must be reversed back to 09.00. A lot of people are not happy with this changes. Nobody wants to be hanging about due to work starting 09.00 away from the the hotel. 11.00 does not make any sense. I love this Royal Alfred and it's the best in the area. Thank you Emilia."
