B&B in Ka'u

"What a sweet little spot. We were volcano watching and did not want to have to drive back to Kona, so we spotted this place at a very reasonable price, booked it and saved ourselves the 2 hour schlep. It was clean, quiet (well except for the coqui frogs - but just had to close the window) , cozy and had a supremely comfortable bed. Best of all, it was 8 minutes from the park. I would not hesitate to stay here again on our next volcano expedition. Thanks Lokahi Lodge! "

"This place is for the adventurer at heart. If you can’t handle cabin like conditions…interfacing with the wild & the noise displayed by the night critters & beautiful birds singing their hearts away early morning, this is not for you! We even had a gecko that would pop in to have breakfast with us…he loved jelly! The host & staff are very friendly & put out an organic spread for breakfast to start your day. It’s pretty remote out there, but there is an amazing place called the coffee shack a few miles away that has excellent lattes & an amazing menu. It’s very busy, but worth the wait. We rented a 4x4 jeep & went off roading & it was a magnificent experience. Made it out to the Green Beach which was absolutely worth the rough ride."
